Officials say triple digit temperatures are expected today with the peak occurring on Tuesday at around 103 degrees or hotter.

Authorities say take precautions to protect yourself from the hotter weather and try to reduce outdoor activity.

An Air Quality Alert is also in effect for cities in and around our county due to the Zaca Fire, burning since July 4th in Santa Barbara County. You could see the thick smoke layer yesterday to the north of the Antelope Valley.

Residents are also encouraged to replace your air conditioning filter with a new one.

A caller, claiming to be a "jury coordinator", says an arrest warrant has been issued for you failing to appear up for jury duty.

If you protest that you never received the jury summons for duty, the scammer asks for your Social Security number and date of birth so they can cancel the arrest warrant.

If you give out that information, they can not only pull your credit report to get more of your account numbers but they also can steal your identity.

The FBI and the federal courts have issued nationwide alerts on their websites warning the public about the fraud.
