A drug lord's 23 year old wife manages to elude the massive cordon of law enforcement thrown around the City of Lancaster to protect the citizens from gangs. The drug lord in question is one of the most dangerous men in the world, but his wife and can come and go in the City of Lancaster at will.

Do you folks in Lancaster feel safer? If you don't, maybe Rex can put a fence around Antelope Valley Hospital.

We had a City Councilmember in Lancaster railing against Islam, but we have a drug lord's wife traipsing around the community. Which is a bigger threat?

I hope Rex comes out with a statement letting "El Chapo" know that he and his family are not welcome in the City of Lancaster!!

Paul Anka Blow-out!

Did anyone hear how the Paul Anka thing went tonight?

Personally, I think Bobby Vinton or Percy Faith might have appealed more to the Young Republicans.

Maybe the Lawrence Welk band can play if Sharon Runner decides to run again in 2012.

Does anybody know who the landlord is for the property on Milling? Could it be....wait for it.....

Frank Visco?

Getting inflated rents on the taxpayer dime is nothing new. Just ask George Runner. Does anybody know if he'll keep his inflated rent office on Lancaster Boulevard with Jim Gilley, or will he side with the taxpayer and go out to bid for a lower rate?

Poor Mark Bozigian sure had to earn his $240,000 a year salary explaining THAT one.

Observer must be on vacation or something. There was this massive article today in the Valley Press about the Mongols suing the City of Lancaster for $11 million. Isn't he going to talk about how proud he is of Rex standing up to the Mongols??

I'm wondering when the taxpayers of Lancaster are going to express their displeasure with Rex Parris' using the notoriety generated by these lawsuits as his leverage for national prominence.

Let's face it: Rex Parris wants to be nationally known. Since O.J. Simpson isn't on trial for murder, he'll need to create some other issue to catapult him into the national scene. He's been trying like crazy to get traction with this China thing, but it's just not happening.

Maybe an $11 million lawsuit will buy him the national attention. Get out your checkbooks, taxpayers of Lancaster. We're in for a long, expensive, and bumpy ride.....

Rumor has it that there are not NEARLY as many absentee ballots cast as last election, which will only hurt Rex.

NOW the Rex minions are spreading the rumor that Rodio has withdrawn.

Personally, they're not theories if they are true. In this case, I know it sounds far-fetched, but I have it on very good authority that Mayor Rex Parris is going to shut down Lancaster on Saturday...with a police escort...so he can ride a bicycle around Lancaster.

I wonder how much money it is going to cost the taxpayer to fund his little escapade, but it appears that he plans on bicycling around Lancaster with a group of his political supporters.

I wonder how tough it would be for Arnold Rodio to try to get a motorcycle permit to ride around Lancaster. Want to bet that he couldn't get it.

I know some of you are going to totally not believe what I'm saying, but it's true. The Mayor plans to shut down Lancaster traffic so that he can ride a bicycle through town. It seems that the Obama Administration is VERY interested in using the Eye in the Sky technology to monitor large crowds, strictly for public safety purposes, of course.

A government spokesman speaking on condition of anonymity said, "this is much more efficient than the satellite technology we currently have. Also, with the Sentinel program, we don't need to go through as many channels to monitor large gatherings of people." When asked if this might violate the Constitutional ban against unreasonable searches and seizures, the spokesman said, "Rex Parris is an attorney, as is President Obama. I'm sure they know the law better than you do."

It seems that the Tea Party movement has inspired the Obama Administration to find other ways to "keep an eye" on who is attending these rallies, strictly in the interest of public safety. "We don't need agitators out there stirring up trouble or using these gatherings to promote illegal anti-government activities," the anonymous spokesman added.

No official word has been received from Parris regarding these negotiations, but some observers believe that these talks are necessary to get around Air Force Force Plant 42's opposition to the "Eye in the Sky" program. Apparently some officials fear that the "Eye in the Sky" could be used to monitor Air Force activities at Plant 42 and Edwards Air Force Base.

Bill Postmus and James Erwin, who already face other corruption charges, allegedly took money to push for a county settlement with a developer.
By Alexandra Zavis

February 10, 2010

Former San Bernardino County Supervisor Bill Postmus and the county's former assistant assessor were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of accepting bribes to push for a $102-million settlement between the county and a developer, state and county prosecutors said.

It was the second time that Postmus and James Erwin had been arrested in connection with a political corruption probe in the county that has uncovered evidence of bribery, extortion, theft, forgery and use of the assessor's staff to do political work.

"I've never seen corruption like this before, where a board of supervisors is induced through the payment of $400,000 to various individuals to vote [to spend] $102 million of taxpayers' money when they should have kept that money for the people of San Bernardino," said state Atty. Gen. Jerry Brown, whose office is assisting the county district attorney's office with the investigation.

According to a complaint filed Tuesday in San Bernardino County Superior Court, Colonies Partners filed suit in 2002 challenging the county's easement rights over a flood control basin in Upland and seeking to recover $23.5 million that Colonies had spent on the property. Four years later, against the advice of county counsel and other attorneys, supervisors voted 3 to 2 to approve the settlement, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors contend that Postmus accepted $100,000 from the developer for his vote in support of the settlement. They say the money was funneled through two political action committees that he secretly controlled.

Postmus then transferred $50,000 from one of the committees into his campaign account, using some of the funds for personal meals and entertainment, prosecutors say.

According to the complaint, Colonies gave Erwin $100,000, which was deposited into a political action committee he allegedly controlled. When Postmus was running for assessor in 2006, prosecutors say, Erwin created political mailers depicting the supervisor as a drug addict and homosexual to blackmail him into accepting the bribe and voting for the settlement.

In addition to money, Erwin is accused of accepting gifts such as a private jet trip to New York, prostitutes and a watch for his intermediary role. He was earlier charged with perjury for allegedly failing to report those gifts after he was appointed assistant assessor in 2007. In September 2008, Erwin was named chief of staff for Supervisor Neil Derry, a position he no longer holds.

Postmus became assessor in January 2007 but resigned a year later after authorities said they had found methamphetamine in his home. The same drug was allegedly found in Postmus' home when he was taken into custody Wednesday, said Susan Mickey, spokeswoman for the district attorney's office.

The attorneys for Postmus and Erwin accused prosecutors of "grandstanding" for arresting their clients and calling a news conference when both men have been appearing in court regularly on the previous corruption charges.

"There is no truth to these allegations," said Rajan Maline, who represents Erwin. "We are going to be contesting them vigorously."

Stephen Levine, who represents Postmus, said he expects that his client will also plead not guilty.

If convicted on all the new charges, Erwin faces up to 12 years in prison while Postmus faces up to eight. Both men are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Prosecutors are also investigating two more alleged bribes of $100,000 each and say more arrests are possible. They believe one of the bribes went to the chief of staff of Supervisor Gary Orvitt. In a statement Tuesday, Orvitt said his vote in support of the settlement with Colonies was based on an analysis of the facts. "No one at any time, including my chief of staff, attempted to influence my decision or had any influence over my decision," Orvitt said.

Prosecutors said another bribe went to a political action committee that they contend was secretly controlled by another supervisor who voted for the settlement. Although they did not name the person, the third vote was cast by Paul Biane, who could not be reached for comment Wednesday.

County spokesman David Wert said the county is reviewing the new charges and remains committed to recovering any taxpayer money lost through corruption.

Today, the paper reports that His Majesty apologizes to a group of Muslims and Jews for making them feel left out. It seems that Rex needs to get his followers in a little better marching order. Interestingly, one of those guys in Rex' little group looked like he'd just eaten a lemon. I don't think he was that happy to be there.

Also, was it my imagination or did Sherry basically spit in Rex' eye in front of the news media by refusing to apologize to the Muslims? Well, I take that back. I'm not sure if she was apologizing to the news media for something or to the group of people there who were not Christians. I think she was probably apologizing to the news media. For what I can't imagine since this has been a great story for the local media.

I guess Sherry can only take so much pot-pushing and Muslims from Rex.

Anyway, I'm glad that Rex finally came around to Arnold Rodio's viewpoint. I think it's a much more inclusive world view.

Also, did Ace Carter take that picture of Rex and the Muslims?

Lancaster Election (uncensored)

Lancaster Election
The election seems to shaping up between two camps. The Muslims championed by Rodio, Ervin and Abber against the Christians championed by Rex, Ron and Marvin. Any thoughts about who is going to win.

Don’t be too hasty. People on the inside are saying that the Muslims are now funding Rodio’s group with all the money they can spend.

Wrecks seriously stepped in it. Time after time after time his decisions and actions while working for us have been for the most part questionable. It’s time to let him go before he causes any more trouble for our city.

i don’t believe DL will care if i copy SOME of lil rexy’s lies here:

“He has repeated over and over again that the people protesting the Marquez Facebook post are “out of towners” with “terrorist” sympathies. Drew Mercy may be able to get away with that in the AV Press, but its not true. The people who showed up to protest at the Palmdale Mosque all live here or are from here.

Rex announced today on the Pat Morrison show on NPR that the closest local Mosque is in Palmdale. Not true at all, maybe he is really unfamiliar with the east side of Lancaster, but he should try Division south of L, which I believe through there is called 5th street east. There is a beautiful Mosque there where for 6 or 7 years, the local 9/11 memorial was held.

He said he paid for the Pastor’s lunch- Not true. The city of Lancaster will be billed for that lunch and the ONLY reason he has now agreed to pay for it was it was obviously a campaign event. It’s highly illegal, several complaints have been filed with the Attorney generals office over this “lunch”. The city also provided the material for this lunch which Rex has not been billed for. Also illegal. He may think that Lancaster is his personal biggy bank, but its not.

In his KFI interview and again on NPR, he basically accused the even the MAYOR of Palmdale of being a terrorist or a terrorist sympathizer or someone with terrorist ties.

This is an AMERICAN city, not a Muslim city or a Christian city. It belongs to all of us. "

Harding Republican says...
Rex is obviously running scared. He knows that this latest flap is hurting him in the Christian community.

He’s using tactics very similar to the Iranian junta. When the people start clamoring for change, those in power threaten to bomb Israel, hoping to get everybody distracted. When the people of Lancaster start expressing their displeasure for Rex, he starts castigating Muslims, hoping against hope that the people of this community hate Muslims enough.

People don’t love Rex, they fear him. Since the community is starting to view him as weak, his support will crumble quite quickly, as is already happening. I’m hearing some of his formerly staunch supporters saying that they think he’s a right wing kook: something that was unthinkable even two months ago.

I also think Rex is making a huge mistake in thinking that all Christians are like the Lancaster Baptist folks. They are not. He’s hoping that if he says Arnold Rodio is a Muslim-lover that the Christian vote will stay away from him.

I think your choic is more clear. Vote for the candidates of hate, Rex and Ron, or the candidates of peace and business.

You decide.

I think it was all of the investment dollars that Muslim businessmen were GOING to invest in Lancaster now going to Palmdale, especially after listening to the L.A. radio stations today.

I heard that a coalition of Muslim businessmen were going to bring a manufacturing plant to Lancaster but that they were decided against it because the Mayor is building a Christian community and that they didn't feel really welcome.

If I were a Muslim or Jewish businessman I would certainly think twice about investing in Lancaster. Paul says that Mayor Parris’ high-handedness in dealing with citizens, as well as his uncanny ability to alienate Republicans, especially those in the business community, has contributed to his qualification for this award. Paul stated that Parris’ disdain for people of color and those who do not agree with him has generated one of the largest influx of Democratic voters ever. “Obama has nothing on Rex Parris,” continued Paul.

When asked if it was strange that the High Desert Democratic Club would nominate a Republican as “Democrat of the Year,” Scott Paul said, “we’re about results. Mr. Parris delivers the goods to the Democratic Party. We believe that a vote for Rex Parris is a vote for the Democratic Party in the High Desert. His continuance in office means nothing but good for us.”

An Antelope Valley Republican Assembly member who asked to remain anonymous for fear of having trucks parked in front of his house and shoe polish on his windows said, “Uh…..ok.”

Mayor Parris could not be reached for comment since he is too busy doing other things.

Lancaster has made it a requirement that all new hires for any business be screened by e-verify. Non compliance can result in closure of the business.

Is this a good idea?

Is the penalty too severe?
