This is what Palmdale's mayor and city councilmen had to say.

"PALMDALE - The City Council voted 5-0 Wednesday to accept a $208 million budget for fiscal 2010-11 as recommended by staff and administrators...

The mayor also criticized "other jurisdictions" whose nonprofit organizations have expressed displeasure with no longer being able to obtain free meeting space in Palmdale.

"These other jurisdictions are going to have to step up and provide for their residents as well," Ledford said.

"It's pretty galling that when you've got someone from another city writing a letter to gripe about the cutback in the free service they're getting in our city," Councilman Steve Hofbauer said.

"You know what? Go find it in your city, then..." Hofbauer said."
