NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.
By Alastair Jamieson and F. Brinley Bruton, NBC News
LONDON -- A man was killed by knife-wielding assailants on a London street Wednesday, and a bloodstained suspect at the scene holding a meat cleaver was captured on video telling passers-by: "We swear by the almighty Allah."

Eyewitnesses said the two attackers were later shot by officers, and described the victim as being chopped like a "piece of meat." Those two men were taken to a hospital where they were later arrested.

Local lawmaker Nick Raynsford said the dead man was a British soldier serving at a nearby barracks, but the Ministry of Defence could not immediately confirm this.

The man holding the cleaver was videotaped by a bystander saying: "By Allah we swear by the almighty Allah and we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone."

In the video, obtained exclusively by NBC's UK news partner, ITV News, the man also said: "Leave our lands and we can all live in peace, that's all I have to say."

Prime Minister David Cameron, on a trip to Paris which he cut short to return to London and chair an emergency national security meeting, said: "It is the most appalling crime. Tonight our thoughts should be with the victim and their families and friends.

"People across Britain, people in every community, I believe, will utterly condemn this attack. We have had these sorts of attacks before in our country and we never buckle in the face of them.

A man filmed at the scene in a deadly attack in London.
"In a free country, the best way to defeat terrorism is to live your life, to show that terrorists can never win."

The two suspects were being treated at separate London hospitals, police said.

A senior British security source said it appeared to be an "ideologically motivated" killing. "From the look of it, it is indeed a low-tech terror attack," the source said.

"I am afraid it is overwhelmingly likely now to be a terrorist attack, the kind the city has seen before," London mayor Boris Johnson said in televised remarks.

The Muslim Council of Great Britain condemned the killing, which it said "will no doubt heighten tensions on the streets of the United Kingdom."

"This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly," it said. "Our thoughts are with the victim and his family."

A witness identified as James told local radio station LBC that he saw two suspects attack the young victim with knives, including a meat cleaver.

"They were hacking at this poor guy, literally," he told the station. "They were hacking at him, chopping him, cutting him."

Multiple witnesses said the victim was wearing a T-shirt bearing the logo of the veterans charity Help for Heroes.

The attack took place less than a mile from a military barracks, in Woolwich, southeast London.

Britain’s Home Secretary Theresa May told ITV News she had been briefed by the Director General of the Security Service MI5 on what she called a "sickening and barbaric" attack.

One eyewitness posted on Twitter that he had seen the victim "with his head chopped off" but this was not confirmed by any police or government officials.

Local resident Graham Wilders told the BBC he saw a man pulling out a handgun. He said:

“As I drove around the corner I see the car on the pavement. I thought there’s been an accident … there was two people leaning over and I thought they were trying to resuscitate him, there was a bloke against the wall.

“Next minute ... another bloke has come along and told me they were actually stabbing him, apparently they actually run the car into him and knocked him down before they done anything.

“And then next minute there was a bloke come along in a silver little car and he got out and he shouted out to everyone ‘someone phone the police.’ So we phone the police. So next minute what happened he actually pulled a handgun out.”

“Next minute I see the silver car shoot off.”

Metropolitan Police Commander Simon Letchford told reporters there were "a number of weapons" used in the attack, including a firearm.

The attack happened at 2:20 p.m. local time (9:20 a.m. ET), he said. The attackers pounced on the victim in broad daylight.

After making his statement in the video (seen below), the man with the bloody knives walked back to the scene and spoke to the other suspect casually.

Jane Fonda was asked for help, was informed of true conditions and treatment for POW's did something so disgusting she should have been tried for treason and hung. She caused several POW's to be tortured and a few POW's deaths she is responsible for as evident by the stories of the surviving POW's.
Jane Fonda does know what she did wrong enough people have told her so and I am quite sure she wished that part of her life history would just go away.

Barbara Walters on Jane Fonda:
Jane Fonda was on 3 times this week talking about her new book. . . and how good she feels in her 70s. . . She still does not kno...w what she did wrong. . .

Her book just may not make the bestseller list if more people knew.

Barbara Walters said: Thank you all. Many died in Vietnam for our freedoms. I did not like Jane Fonda then and I don't like her now. She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by without comment and see her honored" as a "Woman of the Century."

(I remember this well.)

For those who served and/or died. . .

NEVER FORGIVE A TRAITOR.

SHE REALLY WAS A TRAITOR!!

And now President Obama wants to honor her !!!!

In Memory of Lt. C. Thomsen Wieland, who spent 100 days at the Hanoi Hilton [infamous North Vietnam prison] --

IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE. FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!

A TRAITOR IS BOUT TO NE HONORED. KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA.

This is for all the kids born in the 70s and after who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the "100 Women of the Century."

Barbara Walters writes: Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,

but specific men who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat. In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison, the "Hanoi Hilton."

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American "peace activist" the "lenient and humane treatment" he'd received. He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward onto the camp commandant 's feet, which sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the "Hanoi Hilton". . . the first three of which his family only knew he was "missing in action." His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a "peace delegation" visit.

They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security number on it, in the palm of his hand. When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?" Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.

She took them all without missing a beat. . . At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper...

Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam, and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi. My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot, South Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals."

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her. I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received. . . and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as "humane and lenient."

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight strapped on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of "100 Years of Great Women." Lest we forget. . . "100 Years of Great Women" should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can. It will eventually end up on her computer, and she needs to know that we will never forget.

Recently what has hit the facebook and other sites,Obama has been outright proven to be Indonesian in birthplace and went to school there listed as a Indonesian citizen. There is also a wondeful picture of Obama with a Bong with smoke pouring from his nostrils.
There ia on the wall a picture of Aadi Amin one of Obama's heros and he is dressed like a thug.Better yet pictures of Obama's mother has popped up and as quickly supressed as is any mention of Benhazi. Obama's mother is naked except for a garter belt and stockings, its been suggested she worked in porn bobbing on the raditor hose.
I find it totally amazing that Obama is still in office and pushing though his radical socialist/marxist/communist agenda.
The more that comes out about Obama that mainstream media chooses to ignore but even now CBS is picking up and covering how Obama and administration ignored and refused to send in special actions forces to correct what was happening.
That for over a year that embassy had repeatedly asked for more security and that there were indictations that an attack was impending but were ignored.
The fraud alone should be reason enough to remove Obama from office yet no action is taken by Congress, Senate nor the Supreme Court. So my question is why?
Thats all WHY?
We have an illegal immigrant incompetent in office that is a communist criminal.
Why is Obama still in office?
And Obama is using the exact same tactics Hitler used to seize power he also was not a citizen of the nation he led. If you look at it from the christian point of view and its been said already that Obama is the third anti christ. Regardless of that Obama's shady history, the use of several names, social security numbers and the people who mentored Obamashould be cause for concern along with his actions from taking office.
Everyone complained about Bush and the Patriot Act yet Obama continues with the Patriot Act and other acts which effectly removed our constitutional rights and protections from tyranny.Yet those of us who speak out or oppose Obama's unconstitutional actions by executive decree are called racist or extremist domestic terrorists.
Only someone totally blind and mentally challenged can't see what Obama is doing and has done. What history shows is that in the near future there will be either civil war or a revolution if Obama pushes the american people. Thats the only hope for I fear this evil man and what he is doing. His outrights lies and the spin he put on why their is violence in Mexico this last vacation of his there where he blamed america for the guns and the drug problem. But isn't it Obama though the "Fast and Purious" operation that put over 2500 weapons in the hands of mexican criminals who wander across the border with immunity.
There is a chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times", well my friends we are living in interesting times.

By Pete Williams, Michael Iskoff, Tom Winter and Tracy Connor, NBC News
The hospitalized Boston Marathon bombing suspect charged Monday with using a weapon of mass destruction has told investigators that he and his brother were motivated by religion but were not in contact with overseas terrorists or groups, officials said.

Several officials familiar with the initial interrogation of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev described his behavior during questioning as cooperative.

A senior government official said Tsarnaev has told investigators — by writing some answers down, and by nodding yes or shaking his head no to others — that he and his brother were not in touch with any overseas terrorists or groups.

Tsarnaev, who has injuries to his tongue preventing him from speaking properly, also indicated that he and his brother conceived the bombing attack on their own, and were motivated by religious fervor.

Advertise | AdChoicesThey got their instructions on how to make bombs from the Internet, he said, according to these officials.

Earlier on Monday, the White House said he will be tried in a civilian court.

Dzokhar Tsarnaev, 19, was charged Monday with using a weapon of mass destruction in connection with the Boston Marathon bombing.
“He will not be treated as an enemy combatant. We will prosecute this terrorist through our civilian system of justice,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said.

“Under U.S. law, United States citizens cannot be tried in military commissions. And it is important to remember that since 9/11 we have used the federal court system to convict and incarcerate hundreds of terrorists.”

Tsarnaev, 19, a naturalized U.S. citizen of Chechen origin, made his initial court appearance at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.

He was advised of his rights and charged with one count of using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction in the U.S. and one count of malicious destruction of property with an explosive device.

He was assigned three federal public defenders. The charges could carry the death penalty.

The suspect agreed to "voluntary detention," but declined to answer questions about bail, according to a court record. A probable cause hearing was set for May 30.

"Today's charges bring a successful end to a tragic week for the city of Boston and for our country," Attorney General Eric Holder said in a statement.

"We will hold those who are responsible for these heinous acts accountable to the fullest extent of the law."

A criminal complaint laid out some of the evidence against Tsarnaev, who was arrested Friday after a daylong manhunt, and his brother, Tamerlan, who was killed during a firefight with police.

A black jacket and white hat, matching the ones worn by "Suspect No. 2" in surveillance video, were found in the younger brother's dorm room, along with green strands of fuse like those used in the marathon explosives that killed three and wounded more than 170.

The video also captured the suspect making a cellphone call seconds before the first bomb exploded on the east end of Boylston St. during last Monday's race, and his utter calm in the face of spreading panic, the complaint said. The footage showed him hurrying away from his knapsack just 10 seconds before a blast erupted where he left it.

Tsarnaev was brought to the hospital with gunshot wounds to the head, neck, leg and hand. He had been communicating with investigators in writing because he couldn't speak, federal officials told NBC News.

The FBI has not officially revealed a motive for the attack last Monday that killed three people -- one of whom, Krystle Campbell, was laid to rest in Medford on Monday. Investigators are still probing whether the brothers received assistance from others, officials said.

7 biggest unanswered questions in Boston bombing

The feds have asked to speak with Tamerlan's wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, who converted to Islam after she met her future husband at a nightclub. She dropped out of college, got married and had a baby three years ago.

William Farrington / Polaris

The FBI would like to speak to Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, seen here leaving the Cambridge house where she lived with husband Tamerlan Tsarnaev, her lawyer says.
Her lawyer, Amato DeLuca, told The Associated Press he was trying to work out the details of an interview.

His client, he said, worked up to 80 hours a week as a home health aide while Tamerlan watched their daughter. He said she didn't have any suspicions he might be plotting something.

He said she last saw her husband at home on Thursday morning, hours before he and his younger brother allegedly executed a campus police officer, pulled off the carjacking, and led police on a wild bomb-tossing chase that ended in a 200-bullet gun battle.

The carjacking victim told police his abductor asked if he'd heard of the marathon bombing and then said "I did that."

The man, who has asked that his identity not be revealed, told NBC News that he managed to escape and called his captors “brutal and cautious.”

Advertise | AdChoicesThe victim told police the two men said they "would not kill him because he wasn’t American," according to a police report obtained by NBC News.

Boston's top police official said Monday that while there are many unanswered questions, the city can rest easy.

"We're satisfied the two main actors, the people that were committing the damage out there, have been either captured or killed," Police Commissioner Ed Davis said on TODAY.

"There is still an open question as to exactly what happened in this investigation," he said. "We can't say with 100 percent certainty...anything, actually, at this point."

Among the mysteries Tsarnaev could solve is what his brother did when he traveled to Russia last year and who he met.

Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said on “Meet the Press” that trip could be when Tamerlan "got that final radicalization to push him to commit acts of violence and where he may have received training."

FBI, Homeland Security and counterterrorism officials on Tuesday will provide a classified briefing to members of Congress on the Boston Marathon bombings.

Authorities are also trying to figure out where the suspects got their bomb-making supplies and guns. Cambridge Police said neither one had the necessary permits to carry firearms.

Immigration officials have arrested two of Tamerlan Tsarnaev's friends on immigration violations, days after they were detained and questioned by police in New Bedford, Mass.

In another development on Monday, the FBI turned the street where the bombings occurred – Boylston Street -- back over to the city of Boston, which will begin a cleanup and decontamination process before it is reopened to the public. A specific date has not been set.

As part of a handover ceremony, the FBI presented Mayor Thomas Menino with an American flag that flew at half-staff over the Boston Marathon finish line.

NBC News staff writer Jeff Black contributed to this report.

This should be on the front page of every newspaper.

... Charley Reese's Final column!

A very interesting column. COMPLETELY NEUTRAL.
Be sure to Read the Poem at the end..

Charley Reese's final column for the Orlando Sentinel... He has been a journalist for 49 years. He is retiring and this is HIS LAST COLUMN.

Be sure to read the Tax List at the end.

This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican or democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000 People
-By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. ( The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.)

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House?( John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. ) If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to. [The House has passed a budget but the Senate has not approved a budget in over three years. The President's proposed budgets have gotten almost unanimous rejections in the Senate in that time. ]

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan ..

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.
Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses. Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees... We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

Charlie Reese is a former columnist of the Orlando Sentinel Newspaper.

What you do with this article now that you have read it... is up to you.

Several teens were arrested after dozens of mob groups began attacking pedestrians on Chicago’s downtown Magnificent Mile area on Saturday night.

Police responded to reports of disturbances near Michigan and Chicago Avenues.

Police said 28 teens were arrested during the incident and no serious injuries were reported.

The teens charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and battery and later released, according to News Affairs Officer Perkus.

Eleven other teens were charged with the same misdemeanor charges after they attacked a group of women on the CTA Red Line, police said.

Officers began breaking up the attacks by ushering teens to the Red Line. Chaos continued underground but many attackers reportedly left the area.

“I just saw a cluster run down to the Red Line,” said Red Line passenger Amanda Dobson. “I didn't know what was going on. I just kind of stepped back and let the police do what they needed to do.”

Police continued to patrol the area on bikes, horses and on foot as smaller groups wandered around the Loop.

It is not clear if the attacks are related to a similar mobbing of Ford City Mall last month.

Residents were concerned that this could be the first in a long line of attacks after warm weather brought on a string of similar instances last year.

"It's been happening a lot around here," said Eric Baldinger, who works along the Magnificent Mile. "Just keep your wallet close and your purse closer."

Others said the attacks were disappointing and feared for the future of the city.

"I think it’s very childish," said resident Angelica Wilson. "That’s what wrong with the generation today because there’s always petty fights going on down here and everybody getting hurt. We don’t need more problems."

0emailImmigrant advocacy groups are suing U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, saying agents discriminated against immigrants and U.S. citizens.

SEATTLE — Immigrant advocacy groups have filed nearly a dozen complaints and lawsuits against U.S. Customs and Border Protection across the country, claiming federal agents and officers mistreated and discriminated against illegal immigrants and U.S. citizens alike.

The groups alleged Wednesday that officers at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C., were complicit in sending a 4-year-old American girl to Guatemala without giving her parents a chance to retrieve her. Officers also detained a naturalized citizen who had been working with farmworkers in New York, kept women in cold detention cells in Texas and lied on an arrest report that led to an illegal immigrant's detention in Washington state, the advocacy groups said.

Lawsuits allege border patrol agents abused US citizens, immigrants 16 hr ago Duration: 1:19 Views: 106 The complaints are the latest in a series of legal actions taken against U.S. Customs and Border Protection and U.S. Border Patrol from immigrant advocacy groups, who have long sought to reform the agency's conduct on the southern and northern border. The cases involve federal administrative complaints against the agency and lawsuits filed in federal court.

Some seek monetary damages.

"By filing these cases, we're aiming to send a message to CBP that it's not above the law," said Trina Realmuto of the Boston-based National Immigration Project.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection statement said the agency can't comment on pending litigation, but adds that it stresses honor and integrity from its officers and agents.

"We do not tolerate misconduct or abuse within our ranks and we fully cooperate with all investigations of alleged unlawful conduct, on or off duty, by any of our CBP employees and contractors," the statement said.

One of the cases is that of Emily Ruiz, who at four years old was sent to Guatemala after her flight to Kennedy Airport was diverted to Dulles. The girl was traveling with her grandfather, who was denied entry because of an immigration infraction two decades earlier.

The agency said the girl's parents, who are illegal immigrants, opted to have their daughter returned to Guatemala rather than pick her up, possibly because they were concerned they would confront questions about their own residency status.

The family's attorney said the parents weren't given the chance to reunite with their daughter. It took five months for the girl to return to her home in New York. The 2011 case attracted media attention.

Another case outlined is of Lucy Rogers, a naturalized U.S. citizen who works with farmworkers in New York. Rogers said Border Patrol agents pulled her over in late 2011 without reasonable suspicion, only saying he was conducting a "citizenship checkup."

The two farmworkers traveling with her couldn't provide identification, so the agent took all three into custody. She was arrested on suspicion of trafficking people, questioned and held for several hours at the station. She alleges her car navigation device was seized for seven months.

The group also filed four complaints on behalf of illegal immigrants who were detained in Texas holding cells. They allege the cells are kept at cold temperatures, don't have enough beds or bathrooms and aren't sometimes given cups to drink tap water. They allege some of the immigrants were in the holding cells for as long as six days.

In another case in Texas, an American woman crossing the border in Brownsville in late 2012 was forcibly thrown on the ground and injured by an agent during a search. The woman, Laura Mireles, was treated by paramedics for her injuries and released without being charged, the complaint alleges.

In Washington state, Gustavo Vargas Ramirez is suing the agency because he alleges a Border Patrol agent lied on his report to justify his arrest.

In that case, an Anacortes, Wash., police officer pulled the man over for a traffic infraction in 2011. The police officer called Border Patrol during the stop and an agent instructed the officer to put Vargas Ramirez on the phone. The man declined to answer any questions over the phone unless an attorney was present. The agent then instructed the police officer to arrest Vargas Ramirez because there weren't any records he was a legal resident, the complaint said.

Related: Family of slain Border Patrol agent sues officials

Attorneys for Vargas Ramirez said the Border Patrol agent then said he was at the scene of the arrest and that he was called to provide language interpretation, even though the officer and Vargas Ramirez communicated without trouble. The complaint alleges that the police report filed by the officer who pulled Vargas Ramirez contradicts the Border Patrol report.

"Whether someone is a citizen or non-citizen, doesn't give the Border Patrol any legal justification to unlawfully arrest someone or beat them up. The constitution and laws govern all folks, not just those with legal immigration status," said Matt Adams of the Seattle-based Northwest Immigrant Rights Project. He is representing Vargas Ramirez.

Representatives of the National Border Patrol Council did not immediately return a message Thursday seeking comment.

Previously, union vice president Shawn Moran had said "interest" group activism against the Border Patrol is taking a toll on the morale of agents and that Border Patrol agents don't target specific types of people, except those violating the nation's immigration laws.

AP Photo: Ted S. Warren. Evangelicals and immigration reform: Participants at a rally in Olympia, Wash., organized by the group OneAmerica shout chants supporting immigration rights, education, and other issues, Feb. 6. 0emailWith Hispanic attendance at their churches rising, some evangelical leaders are among the loudest advocates of one of President Barack Obama's top priorities.

WASHINGTON — Thou shalt compromise, at least on immigration reform.

That is the message being heard from some leading evangelicals in the United States. After decades of promoting traditionally conservative causes like opposition to abortion, many evangelical leaders are now wielding their formidable influence to persuade Republican lawmakers to back one of President Barack Obama's top priorities.

With Hispanic attendance at their churches rising, these evangelicals are among the loudest advocates of a U.S. immigration reform. A group of pastors has launched a 40-day campaign to have churchgoers pray, read scripture passages about welcoming the stranger and lobby their members of Congress, many of them in the conservative South.

"We have pastors preach in pulpits to parishioners in Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi, Texas — in all the wonderful red states across America," that aiding immigrants, illegal or not, is a Christian duty, said Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, one of the country's most prominent Hispanic evangelicals.

While evangelicals have been a major force in Republican politics for years, Republican lawmakers will take some persuading to back the sort of immigration reform supported by President Barack Obama, which includes a "pathway" to citizenship for immigrants in the country illegally.

Conservatives in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives want to focus the debate initially on securing the border with Mexico and making sure illegal immigrants are not rewarded with an amnesty.

"Some of them don't necessarily see or acknowledge the changing demographics or the electoral merits of passing immigration reform, but I do think that many of these religious leaders could push them in that direction by really referencing the humanitarian interest, or moral argument," said Republican strategist Ford O'Connell.

Rodriguez and other pastors are speaking to members of Congress "on a daily basis" to ask them to legalize the status of 11 million undocumented immigrants.

Targeted lawmakers include Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte of Virginia, who chaired a House hearing on immigration last week, and Rep. Raul Labrador of Idaho — a leading Tea Party thinker on immigration.

Unlikely as it may have seemed at the height of the "culture wars" of the last two decades, these evangelicals are attempting to nudge Republicans to the center. The effort is well timed, coming as the Republican Party strives to improve its appeal to Hispanic voters who went solidly Democratic at 2012 elections.

"This is one area where social conservative input is extremely welcomed by the Republican Party," said O'Connell.

Pastors are asking worshippers to email their lawmakers and tell them: "I am a Christian, a conservative and I vote. I want you to support immigration reform this year," said Rodriguez.

RARE BIPARTISAN FORAY

Support for an immigration overhaul among Christian conservatives has been growing over time. In 2011, the 16 million-member Southern Baptist Convention — the country's largest Protestant body — called for "a just and compassionate path to legal status" for illegal immigrants while urging the government to secure U.S. borders.

A Public Religion Research Institute poll in 2010 showed white evangelicals support, by a margin of 2-1, an immigration reform that would allow illegal immigrants to become Americans.

After the election, a group of evangelical leaders signed a letter to Obama endorsing "a path toward legal status and/or citizenship" for immigrants. Among the signers was Tim Daly, president of the Focus on the Family ministry.

Immigration is providing a rare foray into bipartisanship for evangelical veterans of fights over gay marriage and abortion like lawyer Mathew Staver, vice president of Liberty University, founded by evangelical leader Jerry Falwell in Lynchburg, Virginia. Staver's Liberty Counsel group threatened to sue a Florida library in 2000 for promoting witchcraft by encouraging young people to read a "Harry Potter" novel.

As recently as last November, Staver wrote on Liberty Counsel's website that Obama won re-election because, "Millions of Americans looked evil in the eye and adopted it."

But now he acknowledges that Obama deserves credit, along with the Republican head of the House Judiciary Committee and Senators from both sides of the aisle, for drawing up plans for an immigration overhaul.

"I think it is incumbent upon us to work together and I applaud the bipartisan committee in the Senate and I applaud the leadership of Bob Goodlatte," Staver said. "I applaud President Obama too, I just don't want to use this as a political ping pong."

But any talk of an alliance between the White House and evangelicals to win immigration reform is stretching it.

Christian conservatives strongly oppose a proposal by Obama to give spousal visas to same-sex foreign partners of American gays and lesbians. And evangelical leaders disagree among themselves on whether to grant undocumented immigrants the full right to U.S. citizenship or allow them some other, more limited, legal status in the United States.

Neither option is acceptable to some conservative evangelicals, like Iowa pastor Cary Gordon who opposes loosening immigration laws and accuses his co-religionists of "unbiblical naivete."

'I WAS A STRANGER'

Much of the Christian case for helping illegal immigrants is based on stories of Biblical "immigrants" like Abraham and Moses and passages such as Matthew 25:35: "I was a stranger and you invited me in."

"The scriptures command us to take care of the immigrant. It's not just one verse here or there, it's a repeated command throughout the Biblical text," said Matt Soerens of the World Relief organization, who lectures churches on immigration.

U.S. Representative Doug Collins, an Air Force Reserve chaplain, says hospitality to foreigners is fine but must be balanced with respect for immigration laws.

"Scripture also teaches very clearly that there is government and civil authority and that there is an understanding of rule of law," said Republican Collins, who sits on the House Judiciary Committee.

He represents a strongly conservative district in Georgia which has seen a spike in undocumented workers in the poultry and construction industries and opposes giving illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.

The evangelicals' pro-immigration passion reflects changes in the conservative Christian movement which, while still predominantly white, has taken on a Latin tinge.

Rodriguez, the pastor, who heads a U.S. Hispanic organization with 40,000 member churches, gave a benediction at the Republican National Convention in Tampa last year.

While some two-thirds of U.S. Latinos are Catholic, Hispanics form the fastest-growing group in evangelical churches and are seen as a bulwark against dropping attendance.

Rodriguez put the number of Hispanics in the United States who are either "born-again" or evangelical Christians at between 10 million and 16 million, and growing fast.

While numbers are hard to come by, "there are lots of indirect pieces of evidence" that point to the growth of Latino evangelicals, said Victoria DeFrancesco Soto, who studies Hispanic politics.

Six percent of evangelicals were Latinos in 2007, according to a Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life poll. Eight percent of evangelical or "born-again" voters in a Reuters/Ipsos exit poll at last November's election said they were Hispanic.

Worshipping together with newly arrived Christians — as well as the new emphasis on Biblical teachings on immigration — is melting conservatives' doubts about illegal immigrants, said Danny Carroll, an Old Testament professor at an evangelical seminary in Colorado.

He is part of a congregation at a church in Aurora that is attended mostly by white Americans on Sunday mornings. In the afternoons, the church then hosts separate services with their own pastors for Hispanic, Korean, Filipino and Russian immigrant groups

"Once a quarter, all these congregations get together for a worship service so all of a sudden you are sitting next to someone with a different face, different color, different language. Once you put a human face on it, the whole conversation changes," he said.

Written by a female Obama supporter who voted for him for president.

... Legitimate Question:

This election has me very worried. So many things to consider.
I voted for Obama. McCain was a Washington insider and we don't need any
more of them. I have changed my mind three times, since then. I watch all
the news channels, jumping from one to another. I must say this drives my
husband crazy. But, I feel if you view CNN, and Fox News, you might get some
middle ground to work with.

I started thinking "where does all the money come from for President Obama"?
I have four daughters who went to College, and we were middle class, and
money was tight. We (including my girls) worked hard and there were lots of
student loans.

I started looking into Obama's history for my own peace of mind.
Around 1979 Obama started college at Occidental in California.
He is very open about his two years at Occidental, he tried all kinds of
drugs and was wasting his time but, even though he had a brilliant mind, did
not apply himself to his studies. "Barry" (that was the name he used all his
life) during this time had two roommates, Muhammad Hasan Chandoo and Wahid
Hamid, both from Pakistan.

During the summer of 1981, after his second year in college, he made a
"round the world" trip. Stopping to see his mother in Indonesia, next
Hyderabad in India, three weeks in Karachi, Pakistan where he stayed with
his roommate's family, then off to Africa to visit his father's family.

My question -
Where did he get the money for this trip? Neither I, nor any one of my
children would have had money for a trip like this when they were in
college.

When he came back he started school at Columbia University in New York. It
is at this time he wants everyone to call him Barack - not Barry.
Do you know what the tuition is at Columbia? It's not cheap to say the
least.

My girls asked me; where did he get money for tuition? Student Loans? Maybe
it's none of my business?

After Columbia, he went to Chicago to work as a Community Organizer for
$12,000 a year. Why Chicago ? Why not New York ? He was already living in
New York.

By "chance" he met Antoin "Tony" Rezko, born in Aleppo Syria, and a real
estate developer in Chicago.
Rezko has been convicted of fraud and bribery several times in the past and
in 2011. Rezko, was named "Entrepreneur of the Decade" by the Arab-American
Business and Professional Association".

About two years later, Obama entered Harvard Law School. Do you have any
idea what tuition is for Harvard Law School? Where did he get the money for
Law School? More student loans? His family has no money that's for sure.

After Law school, he went back to Chicago. Rezko offered him a job, which he
turned down. But, he did take a job with Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland.
Guess what I discovered? They represented "Rezar" which is Rezko's firm
Rezko was one of Obama's first major financial contributors when he ran for
office in Chicago.

In 2003, Rezko threw an early fundraiser for Obama which Chicago Tribune
reporter David Mendelland claims was instrumental in providing Obama with
"seed money" for his U.S. Senate race. In 2005, Obama purchased a new home

in Kenwood District of Chicago for $1.65 million (less than asking price).
With ALL those Student Loans - Where did he get the money for this property?
On the same day Rezko's wife, Rita,
purchased the adjoining empty lot for full price.

The London Times reported that Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born Billionaire
loaned Rezko $3.5 million three weeks before Obama's new home was purchased.
Obama met Nadhmi Auchi many times with Rezko. Now, we have Obama running for
President. Valerie Jarrett, was Michele Obama's boss. She is now Obama's
chief advisor and he does not make any major decisions without talking to
her first.

Where was Jarrett born? Ready for this? Shiraz, Iran!

Am I going nuts or is there a pattern here? On May 10, 2008,
The Times reported, Robert Malley advisor to Obama was "sacked" after the
press found out he was having regular contacts with "Hamas", which controls
Gaza and is connected with Iran.

This past week, buried in the back part of the papers, Iraqi newspapers
reported that during Obama's visit to Iraq, he asked their leaders to do
nothing about the war until after he is elected, and he will "Take care of
things". What the heck does that mean? Oh, and by the way, remember the
college roommates that were born in Pakistan?

They are in charge of all those "small" Internet campaign contributions for
Obama. Where is that money coming from? >

The poor and middle class in this country? Or could it be from the Middle
East ?

And the final bit of news.

On September 7, 2009, The Washington Times posted a verbal slip that was
made on "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos. Obama on talking about his
religion said, "My Muslim faith". When questioned, "he made a mistake". Some
mistake huh? All of the above information I got on line. If you would like
to check it - Wikipedia, encyclopedia,
Barack Obama; Tony Rezko; Valerie Jarrett:Daily Times - Obama visited
Pakistan in 1981; The Washington Times - September 7, 2008;
The Times May 10, 2008.

Now the BIG question - If I found out all this information on my own,
Why haven't all of our "intelligent" members of the press been reporting
this?

Does something stink or is it my imagination?"
Are not these legitimate questions for our president?

January 12, 2013/ ⚑ RedFlag .
Chief Justice John Roberts Schedules A Case Regarding Obamas Forged IDs to be Heard in Conference Before the Full Supreme Court.

The case titled Noonan, Judd, MacLeran, Taitz v Bowen provides a mountain of evidence of Barack Obama using a last name not legally his, forged Selective Service application, forged long form and short form birth certificate and a Connecticut Social Security number 042-68-4425 which was never assigned to him according to E-Verify and SSNVS. Additionally, this case provides evidence of around one and a half million invalid voter registrations in the state of California alone.

More from Huffington Post: Taitz's case argues that Obama is using false identification, a fake last name, a false Social Security number and forged birth certificates, and Selective Service applications to run for president. She originally filed the lawsuit against California Secretary of State Debra Bowen (D) in her attempt to prevent California's electoral votes from being counted and to prevent Vice President Joe Biden from counting the electoral votes earlier this month.

A federal judge in California dismissed this case last week. Taitz likened her current case to Watergate.

"Please, keep in mind, Richard Nixon was reelected and sworn in, but later was forced to resign as a result of Watergate. over 30 high ranking officials of Nixon administration including Attorney General of the United States and White House Counsel were indicted, convicted and went to prison," Taitz wrote on her website.

"ObamaForgery gate is a hundred times bigger then Watergate. More corrupt high ranking officials, US Attorneys, AGs and judges were complicit, committed high treason by allowing a citizen of Indonesia and possibly still a citizen of Kenya Barack Hussein Obama, aka Barack (Barry) Soebarkah, aka Barack (Barry) Soetoro to usurp the U.S. Presidency by use of forged IDs and a stolen Social security number."

SCOTUS printout is below. For more information on this

and other cases please, go to web site OrlyTaitzESQ.com. Attorney Taitz can be contacted at orly.taitz@gmail.com, fax-949-766-7603. In case of an emergency only she can be contacted by phone 949-683-5411

0emailLuis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, a registered sex offender, was working for Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez of New Jersey.

WASHINGTON — An unpaid intern hired by U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez while in office is an illegal immigrant and a registered sex offender. The Associated Press has learned the intern is now under arrest by immigration authorities.

The Homeland Security Department instructed federal agents not to arrest him until after Election Day, a U.S. official involved in the case told the AP.

Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta, an 18-year-old immigrant from Peru, was arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in front of his home in New Jersey on Dec. 6, two federal officials said. Sanchez, who entered the country on a now-expired visitor visa from Peru, is facing deportation and remains in custody. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss details of Sanchez's immigration case.

A spokesman said the Homeland Security Department would provide a statement later Wednesday.

Menendez, who is a Democrat, advocates aggressively for pro-immigration policies, was re-elected in November with 58 percent of the vote. He said his staff was notified Monday, and he personally learned about the case from AP's reporting and knew nothing about whether DHS delayed the arrest. The senator said his staff asks interns whether they are in the country legally but cannot check to be sure.

"We certainly wouldn't have known through any background checks since he is a minor about any sex offender status," Menendez said in an interview Wednesday with MSNBC. "Once it came to our attention, our New Jersey staff director let the young man go."

Online jail records did not indicate whether Sanchez has an attorney. Immigration officials there were relaying a request from the AP to speak with Sanchez in jail.

The prosecutor's office in Hudson County, N.J., said Sanchez was found to have violated the law in 2010 and subsequently required to register as a sex offender. The exact charge was unclear because Sanchez was prosecuted as a juvenile and those court records are not publicly accessible. The prosecutor's office confirmed to AP that Sanchez registered as a sex offender, although his name does not appear on the public registry. The acting county prosecutor, Gaetano Gregory, is a Republican.

Authorities in Hudson County notified ICE agents in early October that they suspected Sanchez was an illegal immigrant who was a registered sex offender and who may be eligible to be deported. ICE agents in New Jersey notified superiors at the Homeland Security Department because they considered it a potentially high profile arrest, and DHS instructed them not to arrest Sanchez until after the November election, one U.S. official told the AP. ICE officials complained that the delay was inappropriate, but DHS directed them several times not to act, the official said.

It was not immediately clear why federal immigration authorities would not have been notified sooner about Sanchez's status.

During discussions about when and where to arrest Sanchez, the U.S. reviewed Sanchez's application for permission to stay in the country as part of President Barack Obama's policy to allow up to 1.7 million young illegal immigrants avoid deportation and get permission to work for up to two years. As a sex offender, he would not have been eligible. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, which oversees the program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, notified Sanchez of that shortly before his arrest, one official said.

Menendez said the arrest spoke to the need for comprehensive immigration reform that brings illegal immigrants out of the shadows.

"It does speak volumes about why we need comprehensive immigration reform," the senator said. "I can't know who is here to pursue the American dream versus who is here to do it damage if I cannot get people to come forth out of the shadows, go through criminal background checks and then determine who is here to pursue the dream and make sure that those who are here and have criminal backgrounds ultimately get deported."

During the final weeks of President George W. Bush's administration, ICE was criticized for delaying the arrest of President Barack Obama's aunt, who had ignored an immigration judge's order to leave the country several years earlier after her asylum claim was denied. She subsequently won the right to stay in the United States after an earlier deportation order, and there was no evidence of involvement by the White House.

In that case, the Homeland Security Department had imposed an unusual directive days before the 2008 election requiring high-level approval before federal agents nationwide could arrest fugitive immigrants including Zeituni Onyango, the half-sister of Obama's late father. The directive from ICE expressed concerns about "negative media or congressional interest," according to a copy of that directive obtained by AP. The department lifted the immigration order weeks later.

Thomas Jefferson said that the tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. In Hollywood, where a little new blood would go a long way, this week sees the release of a beleaguered remake of an '80s B-movie classic fated to slide through the modern multiplex. Released in 1984, John Milius' "Red Dawn" hit the spirit of the age in two directions with the kind of lucky timing that makes pop movies into classics. First, it depicted a ground invasion of the United States by Soviet forces with straight-faced war-flick matter-of-fact storytelling. And second, it caught a wave of charming actors working through young Hollywood at the time to play its rebel teenagers, tackling occupying forces with faces like Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen, Lea Thompson, C. Thomas Howell and Jennifer Grey.

Made in 2009, and then set on a shelf since 2010 as part of the financial woes of original distributor MGM, this remake, directed by stunt veteran Dan Bradley, feels a little too quick and crisp and cool. You know when one of your favorite rock songs gets rewritten and sped up and cleaned up to sell, say, orange juice or dietary supplements? That's what the new "Red Dawn" feels like: a surface-level photocopy with all of the problems of the first film and none of the accidental, seen-in-the-rearview power.

After an opening channel-surfing montage establishing economic crisis, political tension, dogs and cats living together -- and political fun facts reminding us that North Korea has the fourth-largest army in the world -- we segue to football night on the outskirts of Washington state, as maverick quarterback Matt Eckert (Josh Peck) fails to follow orders and blows a big game, with older brother (and Marine) Jed (Chris Hemsworth) looking on disapprovingly, with even the consolation drinks being upset by a massive power failure. Fortunately, the question of who's going to the state championship is then rendered irrelevant by the arrival of North Korean paratroopers, falling from the sky to seize the people of Spokane. It should be noted that the original script of this remake had China as the aggressor nation, with this changed to North Korea with an eye to possibly smoothing ruffled Chinese feelings or ensuring Chinese ticket sales. On a note of geopolitical realism, which this film does not aspire to any more than a race car wants to be a bookmobile, it should also be noted that the Chinese don't have to invade America: Considering how we owe them $ 1.15 trillion, all they really have to do is tell us they need their money sooner as opposed to later to bring us knees-ward.

The original "Red Dawn" is hard to take seriously, (I saw it when I was 14, the perfect Regan-era teen male power fantasy) but it's also hard to shake. Its political lunacy and implausibility was offset by a two-fisted, weird hybrid of both Western and war movie that worked, set among the scrub and canyons of the American West. This remake doesn't quite attain that kind of state. Its construction and shooting and pacing feel cramped and small, with the sibling relationship at the center playing like "Friday Night Lights" with AK-47s and the action scenes so quickly cut and visually incoherent they almost convey nothing. It is not an endorsement to note that when "Red Dawn" finished what little MacGuffin-driven plot it had, it ended so abruptly -- and so anticlimactically -- that I half-expected a title card exhorting me to watch future episodes of "Red Dawn" every Tuesday at 8 on the CW.

Even if it hadn't been shelved and reshaped between its making and release, "Red Dawn" would already feel stale and flawed. I found myself wishing some filmmaker could get the money and the chance to make an original action-drama about the real anxieties of our time instead of just recycling the 28-year-old concerns of another age in the name of name recognition and, yes, product placement among the propaganda posters. (Say what you will about our new North Korean overlords, but they respect a good sandwich, apparently.

Early on, I was rolling my eyes at the strained familiarity of "Red Dawn"; by the time it started wedging Subway references into the mouths of its teenage freedom fighters between firefights, I may have been rooting for the invaders a little. The 1984 original isn't an inviolable classic, but it's also an honest product of its age that knows how to wave the flag and shoot an action scene, raising both the hairs at the back of your neck and your pulse. Founding father Patrick Henry, who knew a little bit about fighting soldiers on American soil, shouted, "Give me liberty or give me death," but the new "Red Dawn" just mumbles that it will take liberties, and bores you to death.

Speaking not only for myself and my fellow veterans we have seen under Obama go from bad to worse, thats the simple fact.
In almost 13 years I have real god damn tired of diversity after getting one immigrant doctor after another and when I made a complaint my pain medication got cut off. I had one black woman doctor order me after being there from 9 am and explaining my grand daughters were homes alone at 501 pm she wanted me to go to lab and x=ray I refused and left. Standing at the elevator she came out of the gold team clinic and grabbed my left arm (the one that got butchered by an immigrant doctor) and left bruises so bad they were visible for days. I filed a complaint against Ms. Taylor Jones and then dismissed her as my doctor and the need three doctors all of which were black or an immigrant from some third world nation.
I then filed complaints, got my medical records and was amazed at the fiction, distorted and outright lies made by these doctors in their doctor notes. Frankly the VA Hospital here like in other VA offices lie to protect themselves and their butt buddies.
Am I a racist because I want medical other than some incompetent immigrant or a black doctor whom I feel and think is a racist? I don't think so and I will not rest not give up until I get a white doctor, I truly believe to be fair I am entitled to one after being given the wrong medication after I stated I did not want to change medication, simply because it didn't give me side effects. Two of the medications given to me by a Doctor Chin and a Doctor Li gave me severe and lasting side effects.
Not only did I go to the patients advocate (actually no help) I have called an attorney and will seek compensation for these enept doctors who do us veterans a dis-service. There are veterans that visit this site who are editors and who know first hand how bad VA Hospital medical care if for veterans, unfortunately I am not able to afford Blue Cross etc etc instead of the VA.
Next step is pull out of the VA Hospital healthcare system and hopefully either medi-cal or medi-aid will be better. Any other veterans who is having problems by all means ask for a different doctor should you suspect racism or just lousy doctoring.
Hopefully AVTC will investigate as will the wonderful TAVPO.
The last doctor I dismissed was openly hostile right from the minute I walked into (limped) the exam room and looking at his doctor notes I saw where he lied and took things out of context.
So there Tom, see why you shouldn't trust not only the white man but the black man (or woman).

Happy Veterans Day

A happy Veteran's day to all veterans out thank you for your service.
