Sooo, I am going to make this statement, re: Maggie Campbell. I truly believe she has a good heart and it is in the right place. However, I also believe she is in the wrong party.
Darren Parker has shown his true colors as he opposes her. Honestly, I am glad this has come to the fore front of the AV political landscape.

She has taken stands that are not reflective of the far left in the Democratic Party and is now being left out in the cold, black balled, shut out, and just plain ostracized.

I know there will be people on this site that wil not agree with me. That is ok. You have your's I have mine.

The breadth of vocabulary words of the Professional Parent is much greater than that of the Parent that is on Welfare. The Professional Parent has an average of 2176 words and the child has 1116, the Welfare Parent has a 'Recorded Vocabulary size' of 974 and the child has 525. The working class? 1498 and the child has 749. This study was done of Elementary School age kids over a period of 2 1/2 years.
The words spoken in an hour that were different were 2.5 times greater than the Welfare parent.
I think this is a travesty (ok downright shame). In our blessed Valley, we have many opportunities for parents to strengthen their language skills. Bill Bennett teaches a series of classes at Grace Resources to name one source.
Our children's future depend on the proper laying of a foundation for proper speaking and reading. Teachers are not the only source for training up a child, parents and surrounding households are a integral foundational ingredient of this mix.

Thank You Randy

Thank you Randy for helping out a special friend of mine. A single mother of 5, whom you haven't a chance in hell of making a lot of money off of.

Blessings upon you and yours for your good heart and and kind service to this un-named mom.

Yes, this is a public acknowledgement of a kind act.

A new school year

While I haven't posted in a long time, I thought the time was appropriate to finally verbalize my thoughts on the following subject.
I have to wonder why the State of California allows non-accredited colleges to give teaching diplomas to students. School districts, and even some private k-12's, will not even look at a candidate who has not earned a 4 year degree from an accredited college.

Personally, I think this is a travesty foisted upon unknowing students and their parents, who trust and sacrifice for an education and a future.

I know of what I speak, for I have an M.A. from a non-accredited school, yet lisenced by the State of California to confer degrees. When I tried to transfer those credits, they were not recognized. Fortunately my B.A. was earned from a school accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
