Arrests In Beating Of Man With Cerebral Palsy

The Redlands Police Department reports that four arrests have been made in the brutal and callous beating of a wheelchair-bound man last Sunday in which, among other items, they stole his “lit-writer”, a speech-generating device that was his only means of communication.

The four ski-masked men reportedly broke into Steven Kile’s tiny New York Street apartment near the 10 Freeway, pulling him from his wheelchair and beating him severely before stealing his few meager posessions including his most important device, although of little value to his attackers.

Two juveniles, whose names have not been released due to their age, were arrested along with two adults, 21 year-old Richard McGee and 20 year-old Seyyed Hadi Mirlohi, both of Riverside.

The case has been referred to the San Bernadino County Hate Crimes Division of the District Attorney’s office for possible charges along with home-invasion robbery.
