Mayor Parris Pulls 2010 Papers for Race
Mayor R. Rex Parris Mulls over the 2010 City Race

Lancaster — The Lancaster City Clerk’s office announced Monday that Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris has pulled the necessary papers for the 2010 mayoral race. The necessary papers have only been pulled and not as yet filed which is the requirement to run for city office.
The election is not until April of next year but some suspect that the race will heat up almost immediately with so many controversial issues fresh on everyone’s mind.
David Paul of Lancaster has also pulled papers for his candidacy for the Mayor’s position. This won’t be Paul’s first try for the Mayor’s position.
Former Planning Commissioner Jonathan Ervin also pulled papers Monday for the position of Lancaster City Council. Ervin is the former Lancaster City Planning Commissioner who was released from is position on the Planning Commission by Mayor Parris shortly after the Wal Mart vote earlier this year.
Michael Rives of Lancaster has also pulled papers for the Lancaster City council Monday according to the city clerk.

Information as to any filings will be updated as it becomes available.

Lancaster – not sure about that. I think Lancaster votes on it this time around but it doesn’t go in effect until the next election.
