Maybe Barack was right?
You don’t necessarily have to like presidential candidate and Sen. Barack Obama to fully understand some of his recent remarks on economics and the relation to social issues.

For those who might have missed it, Sen. Obama was speaking to an audience at a political event in San Francisco when he drew a correlation between those at the lower rungs of the economy and their overtly-manifested reactionary views on abortion, migrant labourers and homosexuality. Sen. Obama described these individuals as “bitter”.

Sen. Obama, without mincing words, stated that those suffering from economic hardship are so angry at their situation that they often find solace in attacking feminism, immigrants and gays. Sen. Obama, apparently, is very in-touch with the American psyche—at least on this matter. You needn’t go any further than this very site for demonstrable evidence.

Blogger Bill Bernier, a.k.a. “138hwy”, or better known locally as “Billy”, has used the word illegal, in describing immigrants, a total of 128 times in the past two years. In addition, he has made derogatory remarks with regards to the sexual orientation of other bloggers a total of 78 times starting in December of 2007. In the month of March 2008 and thus far in April, he has used the pejorative homo a total of 41 times.

Taken as a whole, you may disagree with a large portion of Sen. Barack Obama’s platform, or you may have supported Sen. Clinton as I initially did—or, you may be a supporter of Sen. McCain, regardless though, you’ve got to lend credence to the fact that, on this very issue, Obama was spot-on about “bitter” individuals.

Now, it will be up to GOP political operatives in the mold of Randy Hall to exploit this bitterness once more, from here til’ November.

Matt, are you saying that Bill uses those words because he’s bitter? You might have a point…

I should state that Obama was completing wrong with his bitter remarks though because I cling to religion only because of my beliefs, I get angry at the illegal invasion only because of the economic impact it has on America, not because I’m bitter.

Once again, he and the Left Side of the world are pandering when comments such as his about the “Unfortunate” are presented..

It is the “Two America’s” slogan massaged by Obama to make it appear as if he really cares..

One only needs to examine his wealth and how much of it he “Shared” with the less fortunate to truly see this Leopard’s Stripes..

And The Clinton’s record is much worse..

I find it completely disturbing that you could take the very disgusting words Obama said about people in small towns and support them.

There are people everywhere “bitter” about something. To classify small town life as people who are bitter is completely and totally elitist.

Views about social issues are usually passed on from one generation to another just as religion is. In bigger cities, many people change their views because they are exposed to more. They change religions and evolve in their beliefs as they watch life play out.

In small towns, these people don’t have that exposure. Yet, they are far from bitter. It is their culture.

Obama slammed their culture and tried to make out that they cling to these things because of their inability to achieve more. Most of those people don’t know what it is Obama does not think they are achieving.

The bitter ones are people like yourself that think all people must think like them or else they are ignorant.

I am far from ignorant. I was raised in my parent’s religion yet chose to walk away from it when I was exposed to more information.

I used to think being gay was a choice and that it was wrong. I now have no thoughts like that and respect and would fight for the rights of any people.

I find illegal immigration a problem. I have a problem with the fact that nothing is done about people crossing illegally into this country. Yet, I have a problem with kicking people out who have made homes here after all this time. It is our fault they have been here so long.

I do not believe that a woman should have the right to choose life over death for an unborn child. Her choice was at the point of the unprotected sex. Sex is a wonderful thing, but like everything good, there can be consequences. We should not be killing children because a woman made a bad choice.

kelter..You need a second job from teaching thuggish kids because you have way too much time on your hands. I still don’t know why the obsession with me or the need to “count” how many times I say something. If I only used the word illegal 128 times, then I do apologize as I did not use the word enough.
You should concentrate on getting that second job, or a better first job, to give you something to do.

138, I think he concentrates on you because you are the biggest bigot racist on this site to date.

You have no clue what a patriot is, you think by blogging the “words” of patriots that makes you one..doubtful you’ve ever done anything more dangerous then emptying the trash.

More “illegals” as you call them join our armed forces each day to change their way of life and you owe them that respect, especially our fallen.

If you concentrated more on being intelligent as much as you center on spilling your bigotry, more people would respect what you have to say.

Now, back to my original question, how long did you serve, what zone, how many tours, or was your removal from the Minutemen your only claim to fame? C’mon hero, tell us.

Guns, God and Gays, the third rail that Democrats keep touching and dying after that touch.

Most Americans, even Democrats, beleive in some form of God, most people believe in the second amendment and most people could care less about gays except when it comes to using the courts to force gay “marriage” down our throats.

It’s only the Liberal Fringe like yourself that keeps touching that third rail, and in a dumb way!

Steve,

How is it possible for you to be so obtuse?

Like him or not, Barack Obama hit the nail on the head about economics and people who hate other people.

Billy is a primary example of the type of people Obama was referring to—and a very good one to boot!

Not according to the polls did he HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD.. the folks he was referring to are leaving his pulpit in droves…

Obama is an elitist and he is now having a difficult time deflecting the truth.. His “I am for change and hope” mantra is being stripped away and redefined as pandering for votes..

Obama and Hillary are the best campaigners currently on the circuit for the Republican party…

I hope they keep speaking…. I love the dismantling of the Democratic party.. it is such fun to watch.

So when redflag gets his general strike after he wins the minds of the “unsophisticated” you think life will be better or worse?

Isn’t a tad elitist to think someone is “unsophisticated?”

Will a social industrial army tell “unsophisticated” folk that for their own good you must be part of their union?

Yes, that’s it, Randy, pretend that you care about workers. Pretend that you do not harbor unqualified contempt for workers. Pretend that you have not referred to workers as “parasites.” Pretend that my merely having noted the obvious – that most Americans are self-interested, shallow, misinformed and thus unsophisticated – somehow serves as an indictment of Socialist Industrial Unionism.
No, Randy, no “social industrial army” will ever “tell unsophisticated folk that ‘For their own good, they must be part of the industrial union.’” For no society can be revolutionized behind its back. A successful socialist revolution would indeed require the active participation of an aroused, educated, classconscious and thus highly sophisticated working class. The American working class in its current state is simply incapable.
Yes, Randy, the average American possesses but a child-like understanding of the world in which he or she lives. And that does not constitute elitism. It is simply a fact. As if you, Randy Hall, are not grotesquely elitist.

Persevere.

“For no society can be revolutionized behind its back. A successful socialist revolution would indeed require the active participation of an aroused, educated, classconscious and thus highly sophisticated working class.”

In the spirit of the dialectic, isn’t it snobbery to even feel a revolution is necessary? Isn’t Marxism simply to be taken on faith, and that Marx knew his “scientific socialism” was nothing more than arousal fodder? That Marx knew that it was really a revolutionary religious movement he was asking his adherents to partake in?

Didn’t Marx list ten things to develop an “active participation of an aroused, educated, classconscious and thus highly sophisticated working class?” Isn’t one of those things a graduated income tax? Would it not raise the “arousal” factor if we petitioned the capitalist gatekeepers to do away with paycheck withholding so the “uneducated, unsophisticated working class” became aware of the burden of nannyism?

Let’s face it redflag a lone prophet eating bugs in the wilderness is what you are. Look at how much contempt you get for you “truth.”

You’re not wrong on the sophistication of the average Joe, problem then arises how to get them to convert to your faith. Simple answer is make them aware of the costs of there ignorance. John McCain has proposed lifting the fed gas tax this summer, which should open some eyes, at least for a day or two. The big evil oil corp only makes about 9 cents a gallon the fed take in 18 cents. Which is worse from a Marxist perspective?

kelter always posts something that is total nonsense. To infer that 138hwy is bitter about anything is to not know me.

Because if one has a dwelling, food on the table, vehicles and money in the bank, what is there to be bitter about?
Fact is, americans have never had it so good and leftists are truly the sad ones, as evidenced by the likes of kelter right here on this blog site. Name me the last time that kelter did not type about “doom and gloom”, his lousy apartment, his job status?, or his lack of any meaningful relationship?

To get a good meaning of the word bitter, go to any dictionary and look under the letter “K” for kelter.
