KCAL 9 brilliantly captured the difference between the Mayor and Arnie Jr. People watching this will see into the hearts and minds of both men. This 3 minute clip will let everyone decide who is better able to represent the city. Not just here, but everywhere. Who is the most articulate, who is able to think under pressure, who says what they believe?

First, let me be the one who will point out that Rex doesn’t, by any means, speak for all Christians!
Myself, and other AV Christians, who have been following his insanity, do NOT agree with his remarks!
We do not hate our non-Christian neighbors, nor do we appreciate
his making all Christians look
like a bunch of bigots.
We also don’t appreciate his putting the city on questionable legal footing, every time he opens his mouth!
I got to agree with Lancaster on this one.
We need a little more intelligence from him, and little less slick grandstanding.
We who vote in Lancaster, are not as stupid as Rex is hoping we are!

I wonder why Sincere deleted the comment about stalking. Should I be expecting to get some papers sent to me by the Parrisites.
I think before the Parrisites start accusing people of stalking, someone should ask why certain Parrisites sit in opponents’ meetings and record everything and then send a typed report to Rex. Been there, saw that. Isn’t the recorder hidden. Can’t mean they’re being on the up and up.

Well, I think Sincere actually has a bit of truth here. Rex can talk crap and do it well, versus telling the truth, but not as smoothly.
You can package dog poop in a nice package, but in the end, it’s still dog poop. That’s what we’re really looking at.
I don’t think this story is playing very well, that’s why they’ve got to get out in front of it.

Throughout history people claiming to follow Jesus’s teachings have made Christians look bad. From the crusades to the inquisition, from the KKK to the Knights Templar. These were tools of Satan to denegrate and destroy the credibility of Christianity. Now people all over blame Christianity for wars, persecution and death. Jesus represented none of these. I liken it to radical muslims causing people all over the world to hate a religion that was twisted and perverted for political gain.

A very thoughtful and good comment. I completely agree with your statement. There are extremists in any group of religions and Christians are definitely not exempt from that along with any other faith. I personally think that the shenanigans of the last few weeks are a total embarassment to anyone that follows the Christian faith. These elected officials definitely do not speak for the majority or for anyone actually. It is all lip service without any thought behind the words.

yeah. i kind of liked HR response when i asked what to call people who REALLY follow jesus’s teachings. “disciples of jesus”. i find the term christian, is starting to have negative pictures come to my mind, when i hear the term.

After Rex’s comments, I don’t know what christian means anymore because people are tweaking it, manipulating it, reshaping it, falsifying it.
I think I’ll stick with I am a disciple of Jesus. It really means something when you think about the words.

It’s “whining” to use an opportunity to teach people that American Muslim doctors, and other professionals don’t advocate beheading their wives? Wow.
