CELEBRITY SHOW DOWN HITS LANCASTER
I WILL BET THAT EVERY MEDIA OUTLET WILL SHOW UP FOR THE BIGGEST CELEBRITY COURT HEARING THAT WILL BE COMMING TO THE A.V. NEXT YEAR … A MATTER OF FACT THREE OFF THOSE OUTLETS … HAVE ALREADY TAKEN OUT PAPPERS FOR ADVANCE PARKING & STAGING AREAS … ATLEAST IT WILL MAKE MONEY FOR THE A.V.

This is just plain silly. I think that it will be thrown out and it’s all a waste of our already thrashed court system and the time involved to hear the case. The woman had the right to go and eat and not be bothered and that’s the problem with paparazzi . They care only about getting a shot or something else. It’s wrong to hassel and or shake people down like that demanding they speak to you. Just because somebody wears a press pass doesn’t give them a legal right to molest,violate or encroach on somebody elses freedom to move about in society. I think there will be a lot more forth coming and I guess we shall see.

Why is it silly, who decides what is frivolous and what is legitimate when it comes to suing people? I don’t know, but until someone puts user pays on the table, the legal system is what it is.

NO TABLOIDS… ETC… BUT MORE THAN THAT I THINK IT IS GREAT THAT FOR ONCE A POTOGOPHER IS THE ONE THAT IS GOING AFTER A CELEBRITY THAT LIED TO POLICE … ABOUT THEM … BUT THE BEST THING IS THE MONEY THAT BOTH CITES CAN MAKE … AND TO WHAT WESTLASNCETR SAID IN THE ABOVE COMMENT … I AM SURE PEOPLE HOTELS/FOOD PLACES WILL MAKE A LOT OF MONEY … OUT OF THIS …

I guess we will see. I don’t watch any of those shows nor would i ever spend my hard earned dollars on the tabloids. I seriously doubt this is going to make the cities big money and in all likelyhood this will be settled out of court. I hope so as there far more important cases that should be heard and that have value of concern for the citizens of the A.V. I think one thing for sure is that any and all criminal activity whatever it may be will come out if this does go before a judge.Previous law suits ect. that may be justified or litigated litigiously will also be taken into consideration. I really don’t want to see either city make money from a three ring circus media or be put on the map because of a paparazzi fest gone bad.

JUST A MOM… I AGREE WITH YOU IT COULD BE SETTLED OUT OF COURT … BUT WHO KNOWS … I KNOW THAT SHE HAS SUED SO MANY PEOPLE AND SHE JUST WON A CASE FOR OVER $490,000.00 WHEN SHE SUED A LADY FOR THE SAME THING SHE IS NOW BEING SUED FOR … IT WAS OVER A LIE … AND NOW SHE IS BEING SUED FOR LYING HERSELF … BUT NOT FOR A HALF OF MILLION DOLLORS EITHER … IT IS JUST A SMALL CLAIMS CASE … BUT STILL IT IS COURT … I DONT THINK HE IS LOOKING TO GET RICH OUT THIS THING … YOU NEVER DO IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT…

I think it goes both ways when it comes to the suing issue. I don’t know about the getting rich part it’s more the suing for the allowable amt. for that court.

QUARTZ HILL – A freelance news cameraman who filed a small-claims lawsuit last week against Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe, alleging she defamed him over an encounter last summer at a Lancaster restaurant, says he was forced off the road by two men who told him “Leave Debbie alone.”
Ed Frommer, a former Quartz Hill town councilman who shoots video for Los Angeles news stations and other media outlets, said one of the men poked him twice in the chest and once in the shoulder through his car’s open window with a baseball bat.
“They never mentioned the name Rowe,” Frommer said. "All they said is, ‘Leave her alone. Leave Debbie alone. Leave her alone.’ "
Lancaster Sheriff’s Station detectives appealed to the public for help, asking anyone who was in the area of 50th Street West near Avenue M-4 about 11:05 p.m. Sunday to call them at (661) 948-8466.
Frommer said he does not believe Rowe, an Antelope Valley resident, had anything to do with the incident.
He said the men “could be crazed fans – maybe fans of Jackson. … Is it someone who doesn’t like paparazzi? I’m not a paparazzi, but I’m an easy target.”
The report surfaced immediately on a number of online entertainment news sites, including “TMZ,” which stands for “Thirty Mile Zone,” the area that typically is considered the boundaries of Hollywood’s hotbed of celebrity activity.
A Lancaster Sheriff’s Station report said Frommer was driving north on 50th Street West when he noticed a pickup truck driving beside him.
The truck gradually merged into Frommer’s lane, causing him to pull to the side of the road, the statement said. The truck stopped, as did a second vehicle that pulled directly behind him, the statement said.
The two men who got out of the truck were clean-shaven white men in their late 20s or early 30s, one average size and one larger, Frommer said. He said he believes the men never intended to hurt him, but accosted him as “an attention-getter.”
Frommer said he has not videotaped Rowe since July 5, the day before Jackson’s memorial service, when he was among several photographers waiting for Rowe outside a Chinese restaurant in Lancaster. Frommer said Rowe bumped into him, injuring his arm. She later filed a police report claiming Frommer scratched her face.
Frommer said prosecutors declined to file charges against him.
Frommer filed a small-claims case against Rowe on Nov. 17 in the Antelope Valley courthouse. Frommer says he is seeking $7,500 for medical bills and because Rowe damaged his reputation when she filed the police report against him.
Rowe could not be reached for comment Tuesday
