Obama Front Group Attacks Drudge
Obama Front Group Attacks Drudge For Linking To Infowars
Political establishment in D.C. upset with Internet maverick

The political establishment in Washington D.C. is not happy with Internet trailblazer Matt Drudge for linking to Infowars.com, with the Obama front group Think Progress deeming it necessary to devote an entire article to whining about the fact that Drudge promotes alternative media sources.
In a piece entitled, Drudge Funneled At Least 30 Million Visitors To Conspiracy Websites In The Last Year, Think Progress’ Aviva Shen throws her toys out of the pram at the fact that, “Drudge drove over 30 million page views to World Net Daily and InfoWars in the last year.”
Shen points out that a single Drudge link can drive as many as 500,000 page views to an article, and that Drudge himself has been called “the Walter Cronkite of his era.”
Shen divulges how Think Progress conducted a study which “found that, throughout the year, Drudge frequently and consistently linked to conspiracy sites,” as if it was some dark and dirty secret that Infowars and WND stories had appeared on DrudgeReport.com.
The Drudge Report is a smorgasbord of links, most to mainstream media sources, with some alternative media outlets thrown in for good measure. Drudge links to news stories that are often controversial but never without merit. To presume that Drudge and his staff agree completely with the viewpoints expressed in the hundreds of stories they post every week would be idiocy.
Why is Think Progress so terrified of who Drudge chooses to link to?
The answer becomes clear when you understand the fact that Think Progress is nothing more than an Obama White House propaganda mouthpiece.
Think Progress claims that it is a “nonpartisan organization,” and yet it’s bankrolled by the Center for American Progress Action Fund, a think tank headed by Bill Clinton’s former chief of staff John D. Podesta , who was also head of Barack Obama’s presidential transition team after the 2008 election.
According to SourceWatch, “CAP’s Progressive Media project emerged as a major communications war room on behalf of Obama’s domestic and foreign policy agenda and CAP became a strong advocate for escalation in Afghanistan. Progressive Media is run through the Center for American Project Action Fund, the more political 501©4 arm of CAP. It coordindates closely with the Common Purpose Project, an effort to create message discipline among the pro-Obama organizations, with a direct tie to the White House.”
According to Center for American Progress director Jennifer Palmieri, the organization is focused around “driving the White House’s message and agenda.”
Though the Center for American Progress is shy about revealing its funders, according to SourceWatch, no less than 58 foundations have donated over $15 million dollars since 2003, as well as corporations and elitist philanthropists such as George Soros, who donated $3 million for “general support” in 2006.
Think Progress is a little more than a PR firm for the Obama administration. No wonder they are so terrified that thanks to traffic from Drudge, the likes of Infowars and World Net Daily have grown to become two of the most visible anti-Obama news outlets on the web.
Think Progress claims it is upset that Drudge is promoting what they call “conspiracy theories,” but in reality the root of the anger is that Drudge is providing a platform for some of the Obama administration’s most ardent critics.
In addition, as we have documented, Think Progress routinely generates its own conspiracy theories in order to smear its political adversaries.
In a 2009 article, Think Progress claimed that Pittsburgh cop-killer Richard Poplawski “was a die-hard fan of (Alex) Jones,” when in reality Poplawski had left a series of comments on Infowars.com attacking Jones. Despite numerous other major publications having to retract this smear, Think Progress parroted the myth repeatedly.
In the same article, Think Progress labeled the claim that White House science czar John P. Holdren advocated putting sterilants in the water supply as a “conspiracy theory,” despite the fact that it is clearly documented in his own 1977 book Ecoscience, excerpts of which have been posted on the Internet.
Despite the fact that the the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) soundly rejected the claim that last year’s deadly tornadoes, which killed hundreds of people in Midwest and southern U.S. states, were linked with climate change, Think Progress blamed the extreme weather events on “climate pollution deniers.”
Think Progress hijacked the tragic deaths of hundreds of Americans to push their political agenda and smear those opposed to the EPA’s economically disastrous ruling that the life-giving gas carbon dioxide was a deadly pollutant, by inventing the ‘conspiracy theory’ that the tornadoes were caused by global warming.
One can only make presumptions as to why Think Progress feels the need to devote an entire article to throwing a hissy fit over Drudge sending tens of millions of readers to Infowars. There’s undoubtedly a political motivation attached, but perhaps the primary factor is sheer jealousy at the fact that Infowars.com dwarfs ThinkProgress.org in terms of traffic and readership.

The point is the MSM cannot stand that they do not control info anymore. They can’t keep certain stories quiet like they used to and in order to keep credibility, they are forced to report on things they would rather not or people will just get the info from sites like Drudge or Infowars.
I had to make sure I was signed in with the proper account for Rays peace of mind…LOL

He is the president of the Democratic Party. Something the Dems can be proud of.
One thing libs can’t tolerate, is being challenged. Libs normally take the roll of challenger. Obama is trying to create a state controlled media through the fairness doctrine.

The media is already controlled! Has been for a long time now. That’s why nobody watches it anymore.

The corruption and abuse of constitutional authority has been abused by both parties for a long time. Neither party represents we the people in any sense of the word.
The fact is, we, the people, are in deep doo-doo. It’s only going to get worse, because like Ray, the average person has been placated by false media reports and can never see the real picture. They have been brain washed.
(Please note: This is not a personal attack against Ray, just an opposing view point. Nothing more.)

Doesn’t help when they meet in groups like Bilderburg or the CFR with the men who own numerous media outlets I mean come on, how dense does a person got to be to not see the danger in that?

This should come as no surprise, at least not after it was uncovered that Nixon had an enemies list.
Nothing has changed. Look how much money is generated by a incumbent President for the party during his/her time in office.
