Received some information about the Cedar Center that makes me wonder how deep this issue goes.
According to a document title Disposition ….. there are underground fuel tanks under the Cedar building. The cover sheet comments by the person who sent this to me states that underground fuel tanks could be ready to ignite that could kill you and your family members without a moment’s notice.
These people claim fuel is seeping into our water supply, contaminating water.
It talks about how our youth and families are in that building not knowing they have been performing over a possible PUBLIC SAFETY NIGHTMARE.
It is in regards to the Cedar Building across from the library.
The official looking document has seal and is signed by City Manager James Gilley and a few other folks. GILLEY’S SIGNATURE IS DATED MARCH 3/28/1994!!!!
Would the entire issue of the Cedar Street Building not be about what we are being told but about these tanks that should have been fixed years and years and years ago.
Also, James Gilley does a lot of business with the city and has a close relationship with Mayor Rex. If this is true, and turns out to be a MAJOR PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUE —WHY HASN’T THE MAYOR ADDRESSED THIS???
Finally, if this is true as the officially looking document states, why is the Mayor or City doing business with someone who has not shared this information with the public?
JUST ASKIN….. MAKES YOU WONDER IF THE MAYOR IS REALLY ABOUT PUBLIC SAFETY OR PUBLIC PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES???

His letter to the editor today was imbecilic. Telling Parris to have his people call Rodio’s people was just stupid. Everyone knows Parris isn’t going to have anyone call Diana Beard Williams.

There was an article in today’s paper about “Hunter”, the search and rescue dog that is now in Haiti on the ground with his owner, a west Lancaster area fireman. The picture shows them working to free three girls that were trapped and Hunter located. The girls were eventually freed after five hours.I just wondered why the life saving work of these two heroes, man and dog, are near the back on page A-6 and not on the front page. Looking at this article made me more than grateful that we have a home, have a life, and have family and friends that are healthy and any problems seem miniscule in comparison. Wouldn’t the story that would lift spirits with a rescue in a place full of horrific happenings take center stage? I guess not. I was happy to see that the mayoral race was behind this article on page A-8. I truly believe that there are people that will always complain about their lives no matter who is in a mayoral position or presidential position.

Sincere- — I don’t think Arnie’s statement was imbecilic. The last time he put that challenge to Rex, Rex hid. He didn’t want to face Arnie because he thought Arnie would connect him to all the deals and Titans and back him into a corner.
Rex is good in a court room but it ends there. He gives the same old stump speech, makes people a lot of promises and fulfills few.
Last time Rex was actually afraid of debating Arnie alone and Arnie wasn’t astute enough to keep calling him loud enough on it. For someone who likes to brag a lot about the cases he wins, I found Rex to act very cowardly when it came to facing off with someone. If it’s not in a legal type of setting, Rex can’t perform.
So who’s the chicken — Arnie or the guy who looks like he just got a facelift?

Sincere – instead of fighting, why don’t we join forces and investigate if this document is true about the Cedar Center and the tanks. You go investigate, other people out there investigate and maybe someone will come back and let us know it was all fabricated…. or FACT!
Why don’t you pretend that you’re interested in the Public Safety of residents. I would have for a document like this to be floating around the city and people getting the wrong impression about how city government handles PUBLIC SAFETY issues.

Besides – why does it matter if I live in Palmdale or Lancaster. It didn’t matter when I worked on Parris’ last election campaign.
I just didn’t work on the one when he ran for the A.V. Hospital board and lost by such a wide margin. Maybe that was the campaign you may have been a part of.
Get back to us bloggers about the Cedar Street building, will you please, Sincere?

They certainly will bite you in the end especially if you’re deserving of it.
Steve – remember the story of the rich man who couldn’t give a poor man so much as a crumb from his table. Everything was about the greatness of the rich man. In the end — the rich man went to hell. I like that story too. Some people who stat out poor in life and get their hands on some money forget that their money doesn’t mean as much to the other people as it does to them. Some people spend a lifetime trying to buy friends with their money only to find out that without it, they’re still losers and their pretend friends think they’re a joke.
Does that story resonate with you Steve?

Bill Parris use to tell me things like that. When he convinced me to work on Rex’s campaign, he said Rex was a good guy but all Rex’s life, Bill felt Rex was using his money to buy friends.
That’s another reason why I miss Bill so much. We could laugh at half the things Rex does because Bill would always trace them back to Rex’s childhood antics.
Bill’s insights will make a great book on local government and how it shapes the leader or what is called shadow government and shadow leadership.

By the way, ole Rex was at Henry Hearn’s church recently, sitting so saintly in the front pew. I guess that means Henry is trying to be the HEAD NEGRO IN CHARGE AGAIN and get back into Rex’s good graces by trying to get the church folk to vote for him.
