Part II of the gift that keeps on giving - The Press
I am in love with the LameStream media!
Times and Newsweek, NY Times, MSNBC, the 3 networks and others should be getting paid by the RNC..
Their “Elect the GOP” Campaign is working@!
From Rachel Maddows lies to Bill Mahr’s maniacal rants, to to Keith Overbite to Chris “Thrill up my leg” Matthews, to Katie Couric, etc.. their biased and “Kiss King Obama’s Ring” reporting is not sitting well with the American Public resulting in the masses heading elsewhere!
ALL recent polls, viewer and reader numbers prove the FACT that they, like Obama, are self destructing..
KEEP up the great work PLEASE…
Thank you

What are Governor Palin’s qualifications to run for higher office?
Governor for three years, which she cut and run away from the job.
Mayor of a city that is what, about the size of Rosamond?
Can you point me to where she has written position papers that lay out her conservative approach to real issues? Even one paper, even one speech where she lays out her ideas and then defends those ideas?
Oh wait, she’s ultra pro choice, so that’s the reason she is qualified for higher office?

I think Steve has a problem with Palin because he’s attracted to her and can’t have her.
Stevo, she’s more qualified than most of the guys that ran in ’08 and most of those running in 2012.
So your Palin bs doesn’t fly here. Why don’t you list qualifications of those that ran in ’08, including Palin, and those that are likely running in ’12?
“..she’s ultra pro choice, so that’s the reason she is qualified for higher office?”
More bs. You’re sounding like some of the “ultra” libs here.
Anyway, I’ll wait for your answer and don’t expect it.

Well let’s see, Obama was a three term state legislator, and was a Senator from November 2004 until elected President. Sounds like quite a bit of legislative experience, and he didn’t quit his jobs. I didn’t vote for him and disagree with what his policies have done to this country.
Fred Thompson, Senator
Hillary, Senator
Rudy G. Mayor of NY City
Huckaboob, 2 term Governor of Arkansas
Palin, two year Governor of Alaska who cut and run before doing her full term. Before that, Mayor of Wasilla, a town of 10,000.
Remind me again what executive level skills Palin has that qualifies her for higher office.

One more question for you, can you point me to the treasure trove of the writings on issues by Governor Palin? You know, articles, papers, speeches that show what a brilliant conservative thinker she is. A thinker in the tradition of Ronnie, Bill Buckley, Charles Krauthammer, George Will or even Krusty the Klown.

I have a feeling the GOP presidential primary will be a full one. There are a lot of sharp conservatives that are going to put their names in the hat. As long as the GOP candidates stay away from attacks of personal destruction, the party should remain positive, unified, and will grow. If the GOP candidates attack the shit out of each other, they will look like the Dems and other primaries from the past.
I like Palin, however, the media has done a good job convincing the libs and some moderates she is a joke. It reminds me of how the media bashed Dan Quayle when he was VP. The guy never did anything wrong, the public was brainwashed into thinking he was an idiot. That is the approach the media is taking with Palin.
While the left has problems, I can’t see anyone in the Democrat party challenging Obama. The Dems have an interesting dilemma, do they dare run a primary against the chosen one, or do they continue to let this idiot run our country. Remember, the citizens of this country voted a man with experience as a Community Organizer and part time present only Senator as president. While Palin was only a City Council member and stare Governor, the left gave Obama the nod of being more experienced.
The GOP field is going to be strong. The Dems will have Obama.

Bush’s diplomacy skills were to ignore Iran and Korea, ignore Kyato, and just bomb-baby-bomb. His disinterest in negotiating with other countries was disgraceful, isolated the US from their allies, which actually was one of the main reasons, amongst many that the American public voted the Repug’s out.
Voters need to be reminded that the Repug policies killed over 5,000 servicemen and women. A well calculated ‘war’ would’ve taken 6 months -not practically bankrupt a country.

If you want to fault Bush, fault him for focusing on his wars in SW Asia at the expense of paying attention to domestic policy issues. In my view, Bush is far more culpable for the mess the economy is in today that Obama, and that is mostly from his neglect of domestic policy issues.

The big difference between Palin and Obama is the way the media ran on her comments. The media all but ignored any one of the many “stupidly” things Obama said during the campaign and since. Don’t forget Biden’s mouth.
Did the media ever question Obama on his “57” states comment. If a Republican made that comment, it would be like Quayle and “potoato.”
The reason the libs hate Palin so much is because she is smart, and everything the left hates. She is a gun nut, good looking, bright, a mother, and a fighter.
If Hilary challenges Obama, she will win the Democratic nomination. Clinton’s experience sure out weighs Obama’s. Clinton understands the world. Obama is pandering to his supporters, which shows a lack of character.

Sad part is that some in the Republican party think that Palin is the future of the party. The lack of ideas and ability to deal with complex policy issues from a conservative point of view typified by Palin is just one more sign that Republicans have lost it.
Democrats aren’t doing a lot better with Obama, but if Palin is the answer woe be to Republicans who have gone over the cliff in a bus driven by social conservatives.
(

avbornbred says...
Ray, I think differently. To libs like yourself, Palin is a real threat and has to be attacked, made fun of, and made to look incompetent. Because she is a threat, she is attacked so as to discredit her.
When some of the outside GOP candidates hit the field like Herman Cain, the GOP will look a lot stronger than the Dems support of Obama.
I am not sold on Palin as a president, but she would be one of my top 3 GOP picks. When comparing Palin to Obama, Palin is more in touch with the real world than Obama ever was. Obama is a product of the Illinois Chicago corruption machine. Top liberal leaders make a living off of their constituents and carry an elitist attitude, kind of like Michelle Obama not having the common sense to wear Converse to the homeless shelter instead of a pair of $500 tennis shoes. That is just plain stupid and shows arrogance a lack of common sense.
The Obama’s are phony when it comes to being in touch with the real world.

“A Dim Bulb in the Oval Office?
Herbert E. Meyer
During his eight years in the White House, President George W. Bush was often described by liberals as being about halfway between an idiot and an imbecile. They told us he was so inarticulate — so unable to express himself clearly — that his very presence in the Oval Office was an embarrassment for the United States. Members of the White House press corps, spoofing a popular movie, called him the English Patient.
Yet no one, anywhere in the world, ever had trouble understanding what President Bush was saying.
President Obama, on the other hand, is invariably described by these same people as brilliant — indeed, the most articulate carbon-based life form ever to have walked the Earth.
So how come every time President Obama opens his mouth to state his position on some issue — as he did this weekend, speaking about his support for that mosque near Ground Zero — the White House scrambles to issue a “clarification” — followed less than a day later by an “elaboration” of the clarification?
Come to think of it, President Bush speaks twice as many languages as President Obama. (To be precise, two.) Oh, and in eight years President Bush never said anything even remotely as stupid as President Obama’s comment that people in Austria speak Austrian.
Perhaps we should put less effort into forcing the release of President Obama’s original long-form birth certificate, and more effort into forcing release of his IQ. Anyone want to take my bet that it’ll be lower than George W. Bush’s?"

I like the idea of “tower for tower.” They knocked down our two World Trade Center buildings killing 3000. I think we should have knocked down some mosque towers. Hit them where it hurts. War is not pretty, they targeted our civilian cites, we should target theirs.
The libs cherish civilian lives, everyone elses, just not American civilians.
Waiting for more Wikileaks drama. They should execute that soldier for releasing those documents. A true American hero to Ray, Matt, Roxi, lancaster, and Ray again.
The longer Obama dodges the birth certificate issue, the more of a credibility issue it becomes. His administration ignores the issue hoping it will go away. If it ever breaks that he does not have a birth certificate, he will have a real credibility problem. Obama should have just come out and been open. I don’t think the American people would have demanded he give up the presidency if he was open and honest. Now it is to late. It is like he is lying.

If you want to talk about how veterans are treated, then lets look at Georgia at how the campaign of Republican Sen. Saxby Chambless treated former Sen. Max Cleland, a Democrat and disabled veteran.
Of course, the right-wing Republicans here will conveniently forget all of that, won’t they?
Dirty-Bomb Politics
By Mary McGrory,
The Washington Post,
Thursday, June 20, 2002; Page A23
If the mugging of Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia is a fair indicator of what is to come, the fall elections will be ugly. Cleland, a decorated veteran and triple amputee, was attacked by his Republican opponent, Rep. Saxby Chambliss, “for breaking his oath to protect and defend the Constitution.”
Shades of Lee Atwater, the fabled Republican cutthroat politico who helped pilot the first President Bush to victory. But even Atwater might have hesitated before going after a man who lost both legs and an arm in the service of his country. Chambliss did not participate in Vietnam. He had a bad knee, he told columnist Mark Shields, who was the first to call national attention to Cleland’s bizarre situation — veterans whose war wounds confine them to wheelchairs are often given a pass on patriotism, especially by those who never wore the uniform.
But Chambliss was not deterred. On May 16 he issued a press release about Cleland’s insufficient contribution to the defense of his country: Cleland had voted for an amendment to the Chemical Weapons Treaty that eliminated a ban on citizens of terrorist nations being on U.N. inspection teams in Iraq. It was a majority vote, 56 to 44, and among those in support were Sen. Bill Frist, the stately chairman of the Senate Republican campaign committee who handpicked candidate Chambliss.
While the 55 other senators seem equally reprehensible and guilty of oath-breaking, Chambliss says through his campaign communications director, Michelle Hitt, that the majority was not “overwhelming,” and that, although the aye-sayers merited the lash, Chambliss was letting them walk because “he is concerned only about how Sen. Cleland voted, which was contrary to the way Georgians would have voted.”
Hitt says there has been little adverse criticism of Chambliss’s dirty-bomb attack. Only the “Mark Shieldses of this world complain,” she says. Conservative columnist Jim Wooten of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote that Chambliss had a right to reveal Cleland’s voting record — though it was never a secret.
Chambliss may have been under the influence of Bush’s top adviser, Karl Rove, a disciple of Lee Atwater, who has said from the first that the war on terrorism is a good issue for his party and can help close gaps such as Chambliss’s 22-point deficit.
Throughout the country, patriotism, under Rove’s coaching, has become the sub-theme of the campaign. The message is sometimes coded, sometimes not. It is not the first time a campaign has turned into a brawl over custody of the flag: Remember the senior Bush’s melodramatic 1988 trip to a flag factory? In Iowa, Democrat Tom Harkin is getting clubbed by opponent Greg Ganske, who went at him on the flag-burning amendment. Harkin’s record as a Navy pilot during Vietnam was no help to him in Ganske’s attack on him for voting against the amendment. Ganske, although he is running as “a compassionate doctor,” made a tacky jest about Harkin’s recent operation for a cancer on his lip. Ganske promised that when he defeats Harkin, he will make sure Harkin has a lot of sunscreen “down there,” presumably referring to Harkin’s house in the Bahamas.
The chairs of the Democratic House and Senate campaign committees, Rep. Nita Lowey and Sen. Patty Murray, say their issues — prescription drugs, patients’ bill of rights, schools and jobs — will prevail in November. Both have found on recent tours that Democrats are talking more about Social Security than about homeland security.
They advise candidates to do what they are already doing: getting close to Bush on the war on terror and protecting the country. House Democratic leader Richard Gephardt is going the distance. He has endorsed the invasion of Iraq and is pushing for passage of a homeland security bill by 9/11. Bush himself would be satisfied with the first of the year.
Questioning the president on anything — on early knowledge of the attacks, exclusion of the FBI and CIA from the homeland security complex — is considered risky business for Democrats. Said Sen. Bob Graham of Florida on “Face the Nation”: “If the administration takes a stonewall position, and every word in their plan is biblical, and if you change it, you are unpatriotic.”
Both Murray and Lowey say that an emerging issue that might work for them is increasing consternation about corporate greed. L. Dennis Kozlowski, who made a killing while running his company into the ground, makes people mad. They are interested in the safekeeping of their retirement funds.
It’s too soon to say whether Rove will succeed in making the November vote into a referendum on the wartime leadership of George W. Bush. But the meanness has begun early and can only be expected to get worse.
Max Cleland — and it’s not his style — has begun to quote Shakespeare in a line from “Romeo and Juliet”: “He jests at scars that never felt the wound.”

Not every Republican is perfect and nor do I condone what a lot of them have done. The same goes for libs and Dems.
As for politicians using religion to guide them with their duties, so what. What about liberals who speak out in support of their social beliefs and try to sway our youth into getting abortions without parental consent, or even endorsing homosexuality. What is the difference? Why is it bad to have a bible study on campus, yet Planned Parenthood can pass out literature? There are double standards on both sides of the fence. You guys on the left do everything possible to denounce any action our military does, always looking for the blame. It was a good thing that Rays generation never had that attitude during WW2. Americans back then new what it meant to go to war. War was a dirty business and Americans fought to win, even when mistakes were made. Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Dresden Germany were not mistakes. They were intentional military missions to hit our enemies hard.
What we have now is a military who is governed by polictical correctness. I find it hard to believe that when a report of civilians being killed during a military operation, Matt, Ray, lancaster, Roxi, and Skyeye ever shed one tear for those people. Hey Proof1967: Maybe you can answer this question. I have asked it to all of our resident liberals on this blog over the past few months. The question is, and the rest of you libs, jump in, don’t leave Proof1967 hanging by his ponytail. The question is…. If Proof 1967 was the president of the United States on September 11th, 2001, what would your response have been to the attack? Please tell!! I have never had anyone who is critical of our war efforts ever explain what they would have done. Instead, they blame Bush.

AVSKY: That’s the spirit. At least you have some liberal fight in ya. So all of these Swift Boat guys are shit. That is kind of an all encompassing statement. You were right, Murtha had a war record, more true to life than Kerry’s BS. Murtha’s problem was when he got elected into office, he sold his sole to the left wing who kept him in office by denouncing the GOP, our military, and our war efforts. Murtha was a political prostitute.

Kerry’s military record was manipulated. Do recall he put a request into superiors for a purple heart. That is why Swift Boat came out with their documentary, because they knew what Kerry was. This is the same guy who threw his own medals at the White House or the Capital, then we found out, the medals were not his. Kerry is the one who is full of shit, he is a drama queen.

Proof1967: Answer accepted, even though you did not answer it. What you are describing is Amercia, a place where we all are accepted and get along. All those groups live together here in the USA. To bad our enemies don’t live the same way we do. Islamic extremest hate Americans and want to kill all the people from all of our little subcultures to all Christians. They want to kill you, me, and all the other people in our country. I know you believe in the “lets all get along crowd,” but the real world is a hostile place. Mind you, we did not start this war, contrary to what Ray, Matt, Roxi, AVSKYEYE, and lancaster all believe.

Did Kerry or any of his liberal supporters, even Hollywood movie Producers, ever produce a documentary in support of Kerry. No they did not. They did not want to put their name on a peice of film containing a bunch of fabricated stuff. The Swift Boat Vets produced theirs with facts, interviews, and based on reports. They had the guts to challenge Kerry. Kerry’s supporters could only keep the Swift Boat Vets documentary off the mainstream media.

From the president’s perspective, this was a case that demanded White House leadership. The president spoke in forceful tones about the need for American values to win out at the site near Ground Zero — though he seemed to muddle the message a day later by saying that he wasn’t necessarily endorsing the idea of building the mosque and cultural center.

As I said, you made thousand lose their jobs. If you were a good puppy, your poop would not have had such an effect.

Another bit of fear mongering that costs lives, jobs, and money.
“Citing “new information,” Snow told the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service that a federal biological opinion in place since December may be overstating threats to the smelt. The opinion ordered pumping restrictions throughout California’s State Water Project in wet years to ensure water flows for the smelt during the fall spawning season."

The Delta smelt; a fish more important than people
“The impact on farmers in the area has been devastating with the San Joaquin Valley unemployment rate reaching 14% and leaving thousands of previously productive farming acres scorched and unusable. In addition, water utilities in southern California have already begun raising rates and creating tiered pricing to address the 85% reduction in imported water. To make matters worse, California is already under drought conditions, and in combination with the Delta pumping restrictions, local politicians are calling for Draconian reductions in water use by individuals of 40%.”
