Rex Parris Named Democrat of the Year
(LANCASTER) In a surprise move from the High Desert Democratic Club, Lancaster Mayor Rex Parris has been named Democrat of the Year. “There has never been anyone, Republican or Democrat, who has been more effective in galvanizing the Antelope Valley Democrats like Rex Parris,” said HDDC Chairman Scott Paul. “He has united us in ways that we could have never imagined a year ago,” Paul continued.
Paul says that Mayor Parris’ high-handedness in dealing with citizens, as well as his uncanny ability to alienate Republicans, especially those in the business community, has contributed to his qualification for this award. Paul stated that Parris’ disdain for people of color and those who do not agree with him has generated one of the largest influx of Democratic voters ever. “Obama has nothing on Rex Parris,” continued Paul.
When asked if it was strange that the High Desert Democratic Club would nominate a Republican as “Democrat of the Year,” Scott Paul said, “we’re about results. Mr. Parris delivers the goods to the Democratic Party. We believe that a vote for Rex Parris is a vote for the Democratic Party in the High Desert. His continuance in office means nothing but good for us.”
An Antelope Valley Republican Assembly member who asked to remain anonymous for fear of having trucks parked in front of his house and shoe polish on his windows said, “Uh…..ok.”
Mayor Parris could not be reached for comment since he is too busy doing other things.
