What? Where's the beef?
The blog posted emails between small town Mayor/ambulance chaser R Rex Parris and the Antelope Valley Human Relations Task Force, and now it is gone. Anyone know what happened?

According to the report from High Desert Broadcasting on the radio this morning, the AVHRTF “voted unanimously” to “censure” both the Mayor and Sherry Marquez.
I totally expect a Shit Storm of epic proportions. Darren Parker seems to have a reversed Midas Touch.

Expect a full-on inquiry by the county, or at least the fifth district officials, into the AVHRTF and the legality of procedures and a clarification of what binding authority they have. Since Darren Parker used this incident to embarrass Rex, I fully expect Rex to embarrass Darren also.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area laughs at the goofy, self-aggrandising, head-strong nature of politics in the Antelope Valley.

I’m not sure what Sherry Marquez was apologizing for. I thought she already apologized. Maybe she was apologizing for Rex.
Maybe Sincere, AV Observer or AV Independent can help us to understand what Sherry was apologizing for.
Maybe she was apologizing for running for Council. I’m not sure.

At least Rex apologize for being an idiot. However, that will definitely hurt him with the idiot vote, so some of his blog supporters here might abandon him.

I don’t take umbrage with what Rex said about “growing a Christian community” because I think the context that he made it in was probably innocent enough, though, following on the heels of Sherry’s facebook posting, the timing was awful.
Sherry Marquez, on the other hand, did owe an apology to the Muslim community and the community at large for her lack of education and embarrassing everyone who lives here.

The dog pile has grown and it smells bad! She was very selective in her original apology “for involving the council”. She specifically stood by her remarks. The email copies “mysteriously” disappear from the blog (but not from a public records request at city hall). The Mayor condecends in the media, then has a change of heart, and offers a “sincere apology” when the heat is turned up. She did herself no favor with the insincere “apology” she was obviously told to make, before abruptly leaving the press conference.
If their whole objective is to gain media attention, they certainly have achieved that! Bob Kellar did too!

You have to admit that Bob Kellar’s remark was so off-the-cuff though. He was simply responding to an inquiry about whether his anti-illegal immigration views made him a “racist” and he replied something along the lines of, “if that makes me a racist, then I am a proud racist…”.
I think Bob Kellar was baited by people using the infamous “r-word” — probably the most highly abused accusative in the English Lexicon!

Now I’m confused. Yesterday, Rex’ minions were saying that he had nothing to apologize for, then he comes out with an elaborate apology. Sherry essentially tells Rex to kiss off and embarrasses him publicly.
Sherry has committed the unpardonable sin in Rex’ eyes. She embarrassed him in public.

So, Sincere. Are you going to abandon Rex and check out David Paul, Gene Gaynor, and Lyle Talbot? Considering how much you hated Arnold Rodio for going to a mosque? I’m sure that Christian vote is going to turn against Rex now that he’s apologized to Muslims! If he’d stood firm, he would have been BULLETPROOF!!!

My thinking is, if you’ve done something really bad, you call a lawyer. When you need a sewage backup cleaned up, you call a plumber. I think there is a major sewage problem at City Hall. I’m voting for a plumber.

I do believe someone decided they screwed up by putting “their” confidential emails on a blog site. Will be interesting to learn which city official it was, and it will come out.
