FBI seals off Upland City Hall, hauls away boxes from mayor’s house

UPLAND – A team of FBI investigators and IRS officials sealed off City Hall and confiscated boxes of unknown items from Mayor J.P. Pomierski’s home on Thursday, in a probe apparently linked to a Central Avenue sports bar that was shuttered by the City Council in 2009.
For several hours in the morning, more than 20 FBI investigators hauled away a dozen boxes of evidence from Pomierski’s home on Westridge Court, which also serves as an office for his construction business.
At City Hall, the city manager and other employees remained inside the Council Chambers while more than 40 investigators conducted their probe for more than nine hours. Some investigators left the building at 5 p.m. and others were leaving at 6:45 p.m.,

Press Release on Antonio Villaraigosa Educational Campaign
Antonio Villar(aigosa) – UCLA MEChistaAntonio Villaraigosa (then, Tony Villar) leading a protest to include the Communist organization “Committee to Free Los Tres” on the Steering Committee of the Chicano Studies Center. UCLA campus, May 23, 1974.
Chapter 1
“Born to Raise Hell” – at UCLA
While on campus, Villar joined the UCLA chapter of Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan (MEChA), and was part of its leadership by 1974. MEChA had only been founded as a regional movement in 1969, and in many ways, the UCLA chapter, and the radical Chicano student left today, is a direct product of Villar’s work then.
Fellow MEChA alumni from the period remember Villaraigosa’s exploits well:
“He was one of the guys that would go out there and start the slogans because he was the loudest one,” said Arturo Chavez, a fellow activist in college. “He was one of the people who would make sure people were riled up.”
“As Chicanos going to University they’re demanding relevant education that they have some input into.”
The term “relevant education” is Orwellian code used by minority political activists to describe their vision of a network of non-academic interests that both feed from, and direct, the university. The ideal network includes, but is not limited to, labor unions, minority racial affiliation groups, and members of the public taking direct action to aggregate political power. Stripping away Villar’s self-justification about ‘relevant education,’ it becomes clear that the fight was a proxy power grab by militant Chicano organizations. Their goal: to turn an academic unit at a proud university into a mere ideological factory to support and undergird a drive for exclusive minority power accumulation. Villar was ultimately successful in his fight for his vision for a relevant education. On July 19, 1974, the Daily Bruin announced in a brief notice that Professor Alvarez had resigned from his directorship following internal private deliberations with higher administration figures.Villar’s goals, and the actions which made it possible, are instructive in understanding the man who desires to be the next mayor of Los Angeles. Not only did Villar himself harbor radical ambitions, he proved willing to destroy both an innocent man and a fellow Chicano by turning his staff, his students, and eventually, his employer, against him.

ceder center finally makes it to a court room, june 15. it’ll be interesting to see if rex has to take the stand. lawsuit for the election shenanigans appears to be scheduled to hit the courts in august. funny how ALL these cases have to be heard in LA and not local.
think the people have finally started to catch on?

These cases will wind themselves throught the levels of courts where Parris has influence, then go on to levels that he doesn’t. We can expect a lot of money lost from the city for legal fees, as well as for huge settlements. Hopefully, the FBI investigation will put him and his cronies in jail before then.

CJ, what happened to a presumption of innocence? You allready judged him and convicted him without any evidnce except how you feel about the Mayor’s treatment of speakers during a meeting.
And I always thought you were a law and order type. Sadly you displayed another liberal-like trait.

Again with the insult attempts, eh, Randy?
As is frequently the case, you suffer from selective memory problems and have conveniently forgotten one of the primary reasons that I view Parris as corrupt. Parris enjoys no presumption of innocence on the subject of corruption with me since I personally witnessed him in action committing cronyism. I have reported this direct observation before.
I will not countenance a corrupt official… Unlike yourself, Commissioner.

hey TB, go to the video of the city council meeting of jan 12. all the proof one could ask for has been recorded.
and again, this man worship is getting kinda creepy.
ur BFF is a criminal. just cuz he hasn’t been made to take responsibility for his actions, YET, doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. either here or in the after life.
but being as ur all for taking responsibility, why don’t ur rules apply to rex?

Yeah, right, Randy. Yet again with your normal insult attempts. Face it, you’re too lazy to read things even when the links are provided for you, yet demand that everybody else read your far-right-wing pablum from “American Thinker.” Seems like hypocrisy to me, Randy.
As for evidence, let me make this clear to you, Randy: I witnessed the act myself. In this particular case, I did not ask you to go find any evidence bacause you were not present and it is not on a recording that I am aware of. So, instead, you are now calling me a liar?
I can hardly wait to find out what questions the FBI will have for you, Commissioner.

CJ I read the Judas links and didn’t see anything that changes the message of the gospels. Since I saw no diff and you didn’t want to point out how the gospel of Judas changed the message of the other gospels I simply thought it was another liberal-like trait of yours.
Court of public opinion which makes my opinion equal to yours, right?

Captain Jason says...
Always with the insult attempts – that’s 3 in a row, Randy. Arrogance is not a good trait in an appointed official… It tends to get them into investigations on corruption easier. You seem to have a religious fervor problem with the concept of ‘liberal.’ I should remind you that the founding fathers of our country, which you like to revere so much, were ‘liberals,’ not ‘conservatives.’
As for ‘opinion’ on Parris, mine is not opinion, it is direct observation.
As for your inability to discern the difference between what the Gospel of Judas was saying and the Gospels in your bible, well, I am not surprised by your inability to understand that which has not been predigested into pablum. You clearly do not posess the ability to attain gnosis. Unlike you ‘christians,’ I do not feel the need to try to convert everybody to my faith and thereby convince oneself that their belief system is valid by majority consensus. Faith is a personal issue and cannot be altered by cajoling, threatening, political posturing and legislation (hear that, Sherry and Parris?), or force – a concept that some of you ‘christians’ never seem to be able to grasp.

CJ always a nice threat from you which is another liberal-like trait.
The gospel of Judas says Jesus asked Judas to betray him and Judas did so but didn’t want too?
Since God knows the hairs on our head how does that revelation impart special knowledge that is different than the connocial gospels?

Randy Hall says...
CJ perhaps you are right. Liberal means a person that cares about others and all I usually get from you is contemp. So with that in mind maybe you are more Obama- like.

Captain Jason says...
So let me get this straight, Randy. You open every single post towards me with what you consider to be an insult, accuse me of being a liar, and then falsely claim that I am threatening you. Then, you claim that it is I that is showing contempt?
Has your dark lord of evil, Parris, twisted your mind that much, commissioner, that you have lost all sight of reality for your hypocrisy?
Zealots… Hmph!

Randy Hall says...
Wow CJ never any attempt to defend a nutty position yet you call me a zelot.
1. You have personal knowledge that would put the Mayor in jail.
2. You have embraced special knowledge that destroys a 2000 year old religion.
3. You attack me when questioned about it.
Like I said Wow!
(

Captain Jason says...
Randy, you are crazier than usual tonight. What “nutty position” do you claim that I am ‘defending?’
I am fully aware that a simple observation of corrupt practices, even by a trained witness, would never be sufficient to put a mayor, any mayor, in prison. More evidence would be required for a court to make that decision. This does not change my observation, nor its meaning. It only means that he has not been caught, yet, and everybody who has supported him closely will likely become a ‘person of interest’ when it finally comes to a head, commissioner. That is not a ‘threat,’ it is a basic principle of investigation that will be applied when it comes time. I have little to do with that, so your wild accusation that I would, somehow, be ‘threatening’ you is simply absurd.
What knowledge that I have regarding my own faith is my concern and does not ‘destroy’ any religion. That you are so insecure about your religion that such might be considered is your problem, not mine.
As for me ‘attacking’ you… ROFL! Your hypocrisy is showing again, Randy. Get over yourself. Really. You chose the tone of the conversation in your posts. Don’t play all innocent with me when that tone is returned! XD
Your zealotry is a prime example as to why I am no longer a member of the Republican Party. You no longer represent conservatism, but fascist totalitarianism and corruption and that, I will not countenance.

Randy Hall says...
Yet again withthe Nazi reference and no proof typical of an Obama- like retort.
CJ don’t blog if you don’t want to defend your position.
If your personal observation is well personal and you already dislike someone the very act of them walking by would cause a biased person contempt. So CJ what was the personal observation you had that you thought and your well schooled in law enforcement that made you feel the Mayor should be in jail?
(

)
Captain Jason says...
Randy, you have yet to tell me what position you claim that I am ‘defending.’
Your contention that I simply decide to not like Parris because he walked by is an absurd attempt at minimization on an observation that I have reported before. Simply put, I witnessed the form of corruption known as cronyism. For your edification, I am including the definition:
cronyism [ˈkrəʊnɪˌɪzəm]
n
“(Government, Politics & Diplomacy) the practice of appointing friends to high-level, esp political, posts regardless of their suitability”
When Parris chooses to put his friends, supporters, employees, family members, and political allies onto made up commissions, he engages in cronyism… Commissioner.
This does not necessarily mean that all commissioners were chosen for this reason, but all one has to do is to look at the relationships between many of Parris’ commissioners and Parris himself and the corruption is quite evident.
Corruption: “Forms of corruption vary, but include bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement.”
Whether intentionally, or not; you, sir, are part of a corrupt local government… By definition.
The FBI is coming to Lancaster. The only question, Randy, is when.
One other question, Randy: Which side of the law do you want to be on when the investigation starts?
(

)
Randy Hall says...
cor•rup•tion –noun
1. the act of corrupting or state of being corrupt.
2. moral perversion; depravity.
3. perversion of integrity.
4. corrupt or dishonest proceedings.
5. bribery.
6. debasement or alteration, as of language or a text.
7. a debased form of a word.
8. putrefactive decay; rottenness.
9. any corrupting influence or agency.
“When Parris chooses to put his friends, supporters, employees, family members, and political allies onto made up commissions, he engages in cronyism… Commissioner.”
Cronyism isn’t corruption CJ, I supplied the dictionary definition.
From Wiki: “Governments are particularly susceptible to accusations of cronyism, as they spend public money. Many democratic governments are encouraged to practice administrative transparency in accounting and contracting, however, there often is no clear delineation of when an appointment to government office is “cronyism”. It is not unusual for a politician to surround him- or herself with highly-qualified subordinates, and to develop social, business, or political friendships leading to the appointment to office of friends, likewise in granting government contracts. In fact, the counsel of such friends is why the officeholder successfully obtained his or her powerful position — therefore, cronyism usually is easier to perceive than to demonstrate and prove.”
Now CJ, perceive all you want but you fail to demonstrate. And, even to demonstrate cronyism doesn’t rise to a the level of a high crime or even a misdemeanor.

Randy Hall says…
“Cronyism isn’t corruption CJ…”
According to the accepted definitions of corruption, as multilaterally agreed upon by international agreement (including the United States), cronyism (and nepotism, which is not restricted only to family) is included – no matter how much you try to deny the truth of it. Maybe you should take some university classes on the subject of ethics and corruption, Randy, as I have.
However, you have shown which side of the law you have chosen to be on when the investigations begin, Randy.
