No Bull On Bullying
All right, you’re all in for it now. This subject is the one that I originally wanted to blog on this website in the first place. I have major problems with bullying and all the people who allow it to happen.
Bullying is a problem.
It astounds me how so many people do not recognize this and how they do nothing to try and stop this. I must say that my views on this subject are somewhat cynical, and after reading all this, you’ll understand why. You must believe me when I say that many of today’s youth is under attack. Everyday someone is picked on, torn down, hurt and beat up. Everyday, many kids are made to feel that they are worthless, that they are less than a person. Thanks to bullies and thanks to all of those who see the acts but do nothing to stop it.
See, there is more than one “bad guy” here: not only is the obvious, the bully, but the others to blame are the students who see this and do nothing. The teachers who see this and do nothing. The parents who hear about it and do nothing. The other adults who see this and hear about it and do nothing. The people who endorse bullying.
Yes, that’s right. There are MANY of you out there who think bullying is okay. You even endorse it. You promote it. You say, “Oh, but everyone goes through that.” “It’s a part of growing up.” Well to all of you who say that…..
Is suicide a part of growing up?
Is it natural to find your child hanging in their closet?
To find them with their wrists slit open?
Is it a part of growing up when a student brings a gun to school and murders his classmates because he couldn’t possibly take the humiliation anymore? Because he was pushed too far?
Guess what…no it is not. Those are the horrors of bullying. THAT IS THE REALITY. WAKE UP.
You turn a blind eye to the obvious acts of bullying because you don’t want to get involved. Perhaps you’re too busy? Perhaps the subject is too ugly, or too trivial for you to have to take time to confront. Let me ask you…is it worth it?
Is it worth your child suffering daily at the hands of some sadistic, deprived monster? Is it worth it when you can’t miss the newest episode of American Idol or Lost or any other TV show instead of talking with your child and finding out their problems? Or is it up to them to raise themselves and to try and cope with the torture they go through?
Yes, I know it sounds over-dramatic, but to get the point across, exaggeration is needed in today’s society. You have to shock people out of apathy. Don’t get me wrong…I am not exaggerating by much. The truth is that so many people are bullied at school…and little to nothing is done about it.
“What am I supposed to do?” you ask.
The answer is simple, as it usually is.
What you must do is STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING.
If you see something going on, step in and stop it! You’re an adult! Believe it or not, you have the power to disperse a could-be bullying! Tell your kids to do the same!
Believe me when I say if a bully is confronted, by someone else, they’ll usually be discouraged and go away. It’s your job to find out what’s going on in the schools and to help STOP BULLYING.
STOP THIS NON-INVOLVEMENT STANCE OF “IT’S NORMAL” AND “EVERYONE GOES THROUGH IT.”
KNOCK IT OFF AND GET INVOLVED.
The kids are suffering and you must stop this.
As a past victim of bullying myself, I know, FIRST-HAND, how it works, how it happens, and how nobody sticks their neck out to help. So please, stop the bullying.

Bullying is a topic that deserved more of a response. The fear of bullies sends many children to school terrified. And, they find many unsympathetic ears from the adults the confide in. I was bullied in my small community in rural Oregon. Huge metropolitan high schools sport bullying. It is everywhere.
Look how the ACLU, Jessie Jackson, and the ilk bully people into doing things against their will. Jessie implies that Toyota doesn’t employ enough Blacks and all of a sudden the coffers of the Rainbow Coalition are awash in greenbacks.
The best defense against a bully is to stand up against them. It’s what I did. It cost me a black eye, but gruding respect from the perpetrator. Someone has to stand up to Jackson, Chuckie Schumer, the ACLU, and other people/organizations who get what they want through bullying.
Ted Kennedy was accused of bullying Mary Jo Kopechne into getting into the car with him that night. When asked later about it he said, “That’s water under the bridge . . .”

And thank you, Chuck, for seeing and acknowledging how serious this problem is.

David, great blog. You are an inspired and bright young man.
Question #1: Why don’t kids tell their own parents when they are getting bullied at school?
Question #2: What can the parent do if their child is being bullied but doesn’t want their parent to do anything? Maybe the child thinks the bullying will get worse, or they will be embarrassed by having their parent come down to the school, so what is a parent to do?
Question #3: WHY DON’T KIDS STICK UP FOR THEMSELVES AND KICK SOME ASS! Especially when their parents tell them to!
Just wondering…
