CNN Lavishes Coffee Party W/ Favorable
CNN Lavishes Coffee Party With Favorable Coverage After A Year Of Tea Party Demonization
Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
The corporate media is once again lavishing the “Coffee Party” with favorable coverage after having demonized the Tea Party as racist extremists for nearly a year, proof positive that the much vaunted new movement, which is run by an Obama campaign operative, is nothing more than a front for the establishment.
In a new report entitled, Coffee Party, Tea alternative?, CNN’s Lisa Sylvester allows Coffee Party members to talk at length about how they are more “reasonable” than Tea Party members and how the Coffee Party represents a genuine alternative that will “stop shouting and get things done in Washington” without spewing “hateful rhetoric”.
The report implies that the movement is a rampaging success across the country despite the fact that the gatherings shown in the clip consist of no more than a dozen people, whereas Tea Party events have been attended by hundreds of thousands of people for nearly a year.
CNN glosses over the fact that Coffee Party founder Annabel Park is an Obama campaign operative, with the tone of the host dismissing it as no big deal, before promoting the Coffee Party’s next national event on March 13th.
Compare the establishment’s favorable coverage of the Coffee Party to their treatment of the Tea Party, which has been demonized as a fringe movement of racist extremists since it first organically grew out of the End the Fed protests almost three years ago.
During early coverage of the Tea Party protests, CNN’s Susan Roesgen treated Tea Party activists with antagonism and bias, constantly interrupting them and portraying the group as an entirely unreasonable mob who were “anti-government, anti-CNN, since this is highly promoted by the right-wing, conservative network Fox.”
After the live feed ended, Roesgen was confronted by activists who accused her of smearing the Tea Party message by failing to point out that it was non-partisan and that Republicans were being held responsible as well as Democrats.
“That’s not representative of most of the people out here,” charged an unidentified woman after the CNN cameras were turned off. Confronting Roesgen, she added, “You are not talking to regular, mainstream people; you picked people to talk to. … We’ve watched what you’ve been doing here, and it’s not fair.”
Watch the clip below, which is a back-up version of the original which CNN ordered removed from the You Tube website.
(CLIP FOUND ON INFOWARS.COM)
There’s no doubt that the Tea Party has largely been penetrated by Republican and neo-conservative operatives over the last few months who have sought to infiltrate the ranks and take over the movement from within.
However, unlike the Coffee Party, the Tea Party began as a genuine grass roots movement centered around opposition to the two party monopoly that has destroyed America.
Coffee Party founder Park campaigned for Obama in 2008 and was one of the organizers and operators of the influential United for Obama video channel at YouTube.
“I found that people have little understanding of the change that Senator Barack Obama is advocating. I thought from my experience in using videos for civil movements that videos would be the best way to promote the need for change and for Obama. That’s why I decided to work for the Obama campaign,” Park said.
She made over twenty promotional videos for the Obama campaign that drew tens of thousands of views.
This revelation, along with the discovery that Park is a former Strategy Analyst at the NY Times, [Park’s Linked In page has been taken down, here is a cached link] explains why she has received a great deal of mainstream media coverage recently.
The Times and the Washington Post both recently ran glowing articles on Park, a factor that immediately raised suspicion over her grass roots credentials.
Clearly, either the newspapers were incapable of googling her name or taking five minutes to look into her activities, or they were fully aware of Park’s intentions and background and chose not to include it in their pieces. Since Park’s ties to the Obama campaign were revealed by bloggers, the corporate media has been forced to address it, although as you saw earlier in the CNN piece, the tone is very much contrived towards, “move along, nothing to see here”.
In addition, Park’s various tweets reveal that, far from being open to working with Tea Party activists, “reasonable” and free of “hateful rhetoric” as the CNN piece implies, Park appears to have a vitriolic hatred of them, accusing Tea Party activists of indulging in “paranoid fantasies”. Most telling of all, Park writes that the Coffee Party needs to “re-engage the grassroots movement that got Obama elected”.
The fact that the corporate media, which is owned by the military-industrial complex, is heaping praise on the Coffee Party tells you all you need to know about the nature of what the Coffee Party represents – an attempt to revitalize the legions of Obamanoid cult members and get the stuttering agenda for big government socialism back on track.

Obama’s just as much white as he is black. When I critisize him, it’s always aimed at his white half, so as to prove I’m not a racist.

LOL! Wanda Sykes had me craking up when she spoke at a Nobama dinner. She said this, “This is amazing, you’re the first black president. I’m proud to be able to say. But that’s unless you screw up. And then it’s going to be, ’What’s up with that half-white guy? Who voted for the mulatto. What the hell?”
Guess he’s considered white now. LOL

The reason CNN “demonizes teabaggers as a fringe movement of racist extremists” is because teabaggers are a fringe movement of racist extremists. And hypocritical nutballs to boot.
As for “the coffee movement”, I’ve never even heard of it.

Although it is my opinion that the vast majority if not the lot of these “teabaggers” are but garden-variety racists who have been angered over the election of a black president, so too do I find this otherwise “astroturf political movement” to contain a slight element of legitimate populism in that it has seized upon the sort of frustrations traditionally reserved for so-called progressives. I say “traditionally reserved for so-called progressives” due to the fact that “progressives” have fallen alseep in the wake of Obama’s election; believing that "everything will be all right because a Democratic president now resides within the White House. Yet that Democratic president is no less beholden to the interests of the capitalist class than were any of his predecessors and perhaps even more so with respect to the interests of banking capitalists. And, yet, the same sort of social disintegration born of “our” government’s plutocratic nature continues on – a social disintegration whose frustrations have now been co-opted by the reactioanry right.

I went to the first of the new Tea Party rallies in OC last year. OC is arguably one of the most conservative areas left in Kalifornia. Speaking to the ignorance of some who post here claiming that the people that make up the new Tea Party are racist extremists I can personally testify that the racial makeup of that rally trumped ANY supposedly rainbow political party rally that I have seen or attended. Racist? I know not. Extremist? Not one arrest or violent action against person or property. I know not.
And now you know too.

Obviously some of you know nothing of the origins of the Tea Party, nor do you understand it past what the T.V. and radio tells you. That is the whole problem, many base their opinions and views on an issue off of something their favorite T.V. or radio host says. GET THIS-THEY LIE AND PURPOSELY MISLEAD YOU! I know this is hard to take in or come to grips with, but it is true! The only chance we have of taking control back is for people to come to grips with this hard truth, turn off the lying media and think for themselves. The Tea Party was a Libertarian and Independent grassroots in it’s conception and birth. Both party’s saw it gaining momentum and attacked it. That only strengthened the resolve of freedom loving Americans. So, it had to be controlled. That is what Beck was used for, he was to coopt the movement and try to slowly bring it back to the republican side. The core of it, the founding core, are not fooled by the shell game of left vs. right. None of these politicians care about us or the country more than themselves or their careers. They are being bribed, blackmailed, or have had their families threatened to get them to go along. Do not place trust or faith in politicians or media faces, trust your neighbor, your instinct, and most of all the Word of God.

The “tea party movement” is nothing more than a patchwork of Birchers, birthers, racists, and flat-earthers, who Fox News has tirelessly promoted as a legitimate political group. They are not.
These people—so dumb they called themselves “teabaggers” until someone smarter than them told them what that term otherwise meant—would hold just a tad more credibility if they were oh-so-outraged over REPUBLICAN (and/or non-white) spending excesses of the Bush years. But no…suddenly a Democrat takes office—and a black one at that—and spending too much is OH SO TERRIBLE!
We all know, when a Republican is in charge again, he could spend like a drunken Republican and the teabaggers will fade away back to the rocks from whence they crawled out from under.

Not all teabaggers are racists.
But seething racists have a place under the teabag umbrella of discontent. Along with the rest of the unhappy people who have joined the tea party for no other common reason than they are unhappy. Unhappy with the “thems” winning out over their “us”. Unhappy win Dems. Unhappy with government in general. Unhappy wig spending (on other people’s priorities).
Just unhappy because THEY are not in charge.

From what I’ve heard from a friend who attended the ‘Ultimate Tea Party’ in Nashville, TN recently – the message left people scared as hell (FEAR) and all think the world is coming to an end. I also have issue with the Nazi posters they carry, and that they are connected with one of the largest PACs, lead by Dick Army, Lynn Chaney, etc.
Originally, they weren’t connected to the far-right-wing conservative bunch-but have now been high-jacked.
The original focus with our high debt and bailing out the wrong ‘too big to fail’ corps, corp’s hiding their money off-shore and the total rip-off via lack of government oversight during the Bush administration was a good idea. But they’re nothing now but bought-and-sold ‘free’ activists for big corporate control.

The so called “COFFEE PARTY” most likely is made up of unions, ACORN GROUPS, and any other group supporting Obama. The groups that were in front of the Health Care conference last week protesting the Insurance Companies, were all from unions. I find it very interesting that all those people just showed up there when there has not been any real organized COFFEE PARTY rallies. Only unions and organized labor groups could get that many people there on short notice. The tone of that rally was also set to intimidate, a common union practice. Anyone who has watch the teamsters at strikes and picket lines knows how these thugs work.
The TEA PARTY people organized themselves. They did not have to be bussed in. They drove themselves.

LANCASTER: Is FOX to blame for everything you disagree with. Maybe FOX is a vehicle for the public to see the opinions of people from both sides. FOX reported the Town Hall meetings because that was news. Everyday Americans concerned about Obama wrecking everything they have worked for. Last time I watched FOX, I heard supporters of the Health Care Bill openly debate their support for Obama’s health care bill. Like you would ever see that on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBC, NBC, CNBC, Aljizera, or SNL. FOX is very conservative, but that is why their ratings cream all those other stations rating combined. You keep watching CNN, I and millions of other Americans will watch FOX.

The Tea Party organization had nothing to do with FOX. Some of their rallies have been reported on Fox, just as I’m sure they were on other stations.
And I use the term ‘organization’ very loosely because there isn’t any. There is no governing body, no leaders, no formal communication between the various groups. The rallies start with one or two people in a given area who have decided they’ve had enough of over taxation and government intrusion. They use social medias like Facebook and similar sites to get the word out. Ask a few politicians, as well as private citizens, to come and speak. Simple as that.
Will it stay this simple? Undoubtedly it won’t because both parties will try to exploit this movement. Some say it will become a third party that leaves the far left liberals to the Democrats and the right wing Christians to the Republicans. Hasn’t happened yet but it may because the principles of the Tea Partiers speak to every American who believes in freedom.
Some want to discount this movement because they see it as an Obama health care backlash but it isn’t. Government run health care may have been the proverbial straw but this has been brewing for a long time.

PK, if your prognostications about the Tea Party becoming a third, more centrist, party become fact, I will be likely to join it. I would tend to support a more evidence based political agenda than a simply ideological one.

Fox didn’t “report” on the teabaggers. Fox promoted them. Fox was as much the promotional arm of that first national teabagger event as Fox is the communication arm of the Republican party. They were, and they are.

I fully expect if the Coffee Partiers turn into frothing, raving, hate-filled lunatics, the media will call them out on it, like they called out the Teabaggers.
I DON’T expect Fox News to provide glowing, snappy-graphic, promotional-quality “news coverage” of the Coffee Party like they did for the Teabaggers.

some instances of fox PROMOTING AND BECOMING PART OF the tea party movement.
“FNC Tax Day Tea Parties”
While discussing the April 15 protests on his April 6 program, Glenn Beck suggested that viewers could “©elebrate with Fox News” by either attending a protest or watching it on Fox News. Beck stated that in addition to himself, hosts Neil Cavuto, Greta Van Susteren, and Sean Hannity would be “live” at different protests. While Beck spoke, on-screen text labeled those protests as “FNC Tax Day Tea Parties.”
Fox Screenshot 2
TaxDayTeaParty.com lists Fox News contributors Michelle Malkin and Tammy Bruce as “Tea Party Sponsors.” The sponsors section also lists American Solutions for Winning the Future, whose general chairman is Fox News contributor Newt Gingrich. Gingrich filmed a video “invitation” to attend the April 15 protests. According to TaxDayTeaParty.com, “Gingrich will be a featured speaker” at the April 15 protest in New York City.
Tea-party organizers have used the planned attendance of the Fox News hosts to promote their protests. For instance, the Sacramento Tea Party website uses Cavuto’s image at the top of its home page:
Cavuto’s homepage image
On its Facebook page, the Sacramento Tea Party states: “We’ve just received notice that FoxNews will be broadcasting the ‘Your World with Neil Cavuto’ show live from the Sacramento Tea Party. Now we really have a chance to let the whole nation hear our voices in Sacramento. Bring your friends, family and everyone you know!”
The website AtlantaTeaParty.net states of Sean Hannity’s appearance at its Atlanta protest:
Moments ago, Sean Hannity, of Hannity on Fox News, announced that he is going to broadcast LIVE from the ATLANTA TEA PARTY!!!! Fox will also have news crews in other cities around the country at their Tea Parties. This is huge and exciting news for the Atlanta event and also for the Tea Party movement in general. We are honored to have Hannity covering our Atlanta Tea Party!( send private message )

Suggesting FOX news is making news? Lets go back a few years during a presidential election. Was it not Dan Rather, who falsly REPORTED on the air waves, prime time news, to the American people, the forged and false reports about President Bush’s military record. The Rather report was then carried by all the major networks as being fact, over and over again. When the reports were proven to be forged, it was news for a day or two. I think that is a clear example of how the left wing has a intimate relationship with the main stream media. Last I heard on FOX about the far right claims about Obama’s birth certificate, was that these were unjust claims.
Was it not the main stream media who refused to show the “Swift Boat Veterans” documentary about John Kerry.
That was a documentary by credible veterans who challenged Kerry’s military records. The main stream media refused to show it to the American people, but they rallied around Rather’s false report.
When was the last time Obama consented to be interviewed on FOX, the leading news network on TV. NEVER. President Clinton has been interviewed on FOX, but not Obama. Gee, wonder which one has the most estrogen?
Lancaster, you keep watching CNN and the other channels.
As for the Coffee Party, there is no true emotion driving them. It is all scripted. Can’t wait to see Obama hand out more white doctors coats to all the doctors who will show up at the Coffee Parties. More props, more show, more lies!!!!

But, AVBB, to go along with your change of subject:
Yes Dan Rather cited false documents. Well done by Republican operatives; it tainted an overall true story about Bush’s desertion.
You’re not seriously bringing up Obama’s birth certificate to make an argument?
The MSM focused way TOO MUCH attention on the despicable Swift Boat Veterans for Bush. Traitors to our troops such as they should get ZERO time; as it is, they got alot of press, and probably turned the election.
Obama doesn’t interview Fox, probably because Obama only does interviews with credible news sources. And Fox News’ ratings have nothing to do with anything. Yes, alot of people watch Fox News. But even more people watch American Idol. So what?
Your comment about lack of “emotion” in the Coffee Party is interesting. What does “emotion” have to do with things? Except that, yes, the Coffee Party seems to be less ANGRY than the Teabaggers.

American Idol they watch for entertainment. Fox they watch for opinions and news.
Superbowl they watch for football. When people want to watch any form of news the vast majority don’t watch the liberal networks. Or American Idol. That’s because most Americans are right of center.
Most Americans aren’t Hollywood and NYC, no matter what actors or muscians that think they are politicians say.

1st let me point out the the memo’s dan rather reported were false. the information on them sere 100% true. the brilliant strategist rove new he had to nip the that information in the bud, so he leaked the information (or whoever was in his employ) on a FAKE MEMO. facts = true. paperwork = false.
if u get a chance pick up a copy of “shrub” by molly ivans, written before the 1st W election, and every thing is well documented. including copies from the military concerning bush jr’s falsifying medical records and what he was doing when he went awol from the national guard for a year. there are copies of reports that have had paragraphs removed (blacked out) to protect the guilty, and explains that much of the official paperwork could no
longer be obtained through the freedom of information act once the campaign started. she writes with a sharp wit, so u would even enjoy the read.
as far as kerry goes, why we sat back and let a vet be trashed, (a 3 time purple heart winner)was kerry’s biggest mistake. he served honorably and could never believe that the american people would ever re-visit the shameful treatment of our returning viet nam vets. guess it showed how naive he was!
could care less if obama refuses to go on fox. his doctor show was more believable then beck’s lil party he had with his scripted drs. and funny how ever time a dr. tried to disagree with him, they went to commercials. (all of this can be proved by watching it again on the fox.com.) so take issue with his

Déjà Vu: Fox News Rallies Viewers To Participate In Radical Anti-Obama Tea Party Protests On July 4
This morning on Fox News, Glenn Beck joined the Fox and Friends hosts to promote new anti-Obama, anti-tax tea party protests on July 4. Steve Doocy introduced the segment, “This weekend, of course the 4th of July, Americans are gearing up for a second round of tea parties to protest massive government spending.”
Reprising their role in orchestrating the first tea parties, the lobbyist-run groups Americans for Prosperity and FreedomWorks are again helping to organize the July 4 protests. FreedomWorks is working alongside other right-wing groups on a new website to publicize the events, and Americans for Prosperity is hosting several rallies on the 4th, including one with Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX).
But while these lobbyist-run groups played a pivotal role in financing the logistics and coordination of the tea parties, Fox News was certainly the megaphone for the movement. Just as Fox News became a full-fledged sponsor of the April protests, running back-to-back segments and broadcasting live from protests across the country, the network is attempting to motivate another round of radical, anti-Obama protests on July 4th. In recent weeks and this morning, Fox News has run several segments, including one featuring disgraced Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC), to promote tea parties.

Obama was worse than Kerry. A Trinity church goer with the most liberal senate voting record of ’07. But all these people wanted to vote for “the first black president”. Even though there were probably litarrally hundreds of blacks that were more qualified for the job. But Obama can rap. I give him that.
And George Bush helped Obama get elected by not being a conservative on too many issues, including spending and illegal immigration.

Lancaster: It’s is OK with me if you believe falsified documents and the content contained in them to be true. Keep drinking the KOOL-AID!! Believe in falsified documents.
I don’t know if Bush used drugs or not. Obama admitted he smoked weed, I don’t care. If Bush lied, then there could be an issue. No one ever proved that he covered up drug use or someone was protecting him. The problem is, the only evidence on that was falsified documents that the left wing media ran with as being true. The more they put it out there, people like yourself began to believe it as true. Fortunately for the USA, the truth came out and it did not hurt President Bush from being re-elected.
As for Kerry and his purple hearts, maybe he earned them, or maybe his manipulated the system getting them. That is what Swift Boat documented, was that Kerry received the purple hearts for minor wounds that most service men considered to be minor in nature.
If you believe Bush failed a drug test or would of, then why don’t you believe Swift Boats documentary? I guess it depends how far left you really are. Don’t take Kerry’s word that he was Rambo like and got those purlple hearts in heavy combat.

AVBB -
If I produce a false document, representing it signed by Galileo, which draws out how the earth revolves around the sun…and you prove the document false, it doesn’t take away from the fact that THE EARTH REVOLVES AROUND THE SUN.
So it was with Bush’s AWOL. It was well established, long before Rather’s report (in fact, long before the 2000 election), that Bush decided to stop showing up for his Guard service a year or so before his commitment was over. It was further established that Bush threw away his million dollar pilot training by refusing to take a flight physical—the very same year that drug testing became a required part of the physical.
The so-called “liberal media” didn’t really carry those stories though, throughout 2000-2004, in fact until the Rather story. (With a “liberal media” like OUR “liberal media”, who needs a conservative one?)
Your Swift Boat comparison is as comical as it is despicable. In defense of a guy who used his family name to avoid combat—and then deserted even from that cush service—you’re going to quibble about a combat hero’s COMBAT SERVICE in Vietnam?
The Swift Boat Vets for Bush—and all who don’t denounce them—are the most despicable, UNpatriotic, ANTI-troop, UNAmerican POS’s seen on the American political landscape in my lifetime. If these POS’s knew shame, they’d be ashamed. They don’t, so they’re not.
And to add to the ridiculousness, most Swift Boat supporters are the loudest “support the troops” screamers. Kind of like closet gay Congressmen strongly supporting anti-gay legislation…they’re gay, and they’re trying to hide it. Just like Swift Boaters are anti-troop, and they’re trying to hide it.

AVSKYEYE: You point out “Swift Boats Vets for Bush.” I agree, they were in Bush’s camp because they saw first hand how Kerry and the liberal media were using his military record against Bush’s. Bush had the Swift Boat Vets, from Kerry’s own military unit, and Kerry had all of the main stream media in his camp. As for the comparison between the Swift Boats Vets and Dan Rather’s false document, I think the comparison is right on showing the hypocracy of the left on what it chooses to promote and report. Your comparison of Galileo is a good example and well taken. As for Rather’s report, it would not carry and weight in the court of law. Galileo’s documents could be accepted by other scientist, but not in court.
A few presidential elections ago, Clinton was running against Bod Dole. The Clinton campaign went public with a request to the Dole campaign not to exploit Dole’s military record, in which he clearly earned a Purple Heart and has the disability to go a along with it. The Dole campaign abided by the request and little was made of Dole’s record and the lack of Clinton’s military record. That was a bad move by Dole, but I don’t think it would have made a difference.
It is clearly evident the left will exploit what ever evidence there is, true of false, to move there agenda and candidates forward. It still does not justify the report by Dan Rather, a falsified forged document, and the fact that it would carry any weight in a court of law or with the voters of this country. As it turned out, the voters did not condemn Bush for his military record, and saw how the left wing media was refusing to allow the Swift Boat Vets their voice to be heard over the air waves. The people of this country voted for Bush and Kerry lost. The people of this country saw through the left wing liberal lies. To bad the American people could not see through Obama’s lies.
